Re: Go Brewers!!!

  • I am also almost too nervous to watch.  I was so nervous watching last night.  I sure hope they can make a comeback.  I would love to see them go to the WS.

  • I'm so nervous too! Besides the first inning, last night was actually a really good game.

  • I wanted the Brewers to be the NL team in the WS, but it's not looking too good. The Cardinals just seem to become a totally different team once the playoffs start.

I am getting myself prepared that they will not be in the WS.  Braun and  Fielder (especially) have not been playing up to their usual high standards.  I hope they can win at home.  I also thought that a lot of the calls in St. Louis were really bad.  They can still pull it off, but it will be tough!

The pitching calls last night were total bullsh!t. One of Hart's at-bats should have been a walk, but he was struck out looking. Then Greinke throws two pitches in the same spot (down and away, right outside the box) and they're balls. I call Shenanigans on that.

I'm really hoping the home field atmosphere can fuel them as usual. Their defense was crap last night. I can't even believe some of those errors.

  • I agree that the strikezone was bs, but it was bs for both teams. The strikezone for Berkman's last at bat was especially appalling.

No, I agree. A lot of the calls in the playoffs in general have been really wacky. I'm not sure if its just because its the playoffs so I'm noticing more (but I've noticed it in the other series I've watched too), but its almost ridiculous. There are more umps in the playoffs, the calls should be better, not worse!

If the Cards weren't playing my team, I wouldn't mind seeing them in the WS, except that I despise Tony LaRussa. He's a great coach, but he's such an a-hole. I couldn't stand having him as the coach of my team, I don't know how Cards fans deal with him.

It can be so frustrating. How he handled the bullpen struggles at the beginning of the year was just awful. But he stole my heart this summer.  We drove to Pittsburgh to see the Cards and ran into LaRussa after one of the games and he was ridiculously nice and talked to us for awhile and took pictures with us. So I have calmed down my TL hate a little bit lol.

I went to the game Friday night in St. Louis and now we're in Milwaukee for the game tonight! I'm so excited. May the best team win :)

That must have been awesome for you to be at the game last night. I'm disappointed, but the way my team played last night and Friday, you'd almost wonder how they got to the playoffs. The pitching and the errors? Oye. The Cards were amazing, they deserve it.

OMG he is so nice! DH and I met him at a law school event several years ago when DH was in law school in STL. He's a huge humane society advocate and just an all around decent guy.

I swim because I'm too damned sexy for a sport that requires real clothing.

We absolutely had the time of our lives. And we were super impressed at how genuinely nice all the Brewers fans that we talked to were. I really hope Fielder re-signs with the Crew because this rivalry is going to be intense next season!!

We are a pretty nice bunch. Unless you're a Cubs fan Stick out tongue Did you like Miller Park? I have no idea how it really compares to any other parks besides Wrigley, but we love it there. We take my older daughter all the time.

Fielder already reportedly turned down a $35 Million offer. I don't think he'll be back, but I guess anything can happen. I really love him, I'll be sad to see him go.

Also, about LaRussa, He may be nice outside of the game, but I often think he must be a PR nightmare. He's made a couple big stinks about the lighting at Miller Park and he called Brewers fans "idiots". I mean, yeah, there are some idiots in every bunch, but the majority are very, very loyal fans that know their stuff. He just rubs me the wrong way, but I'm a fan of our manager who is pretty reserved and keeps things to himself, so maybe that's just personal preference.
