Mechanic Recs?
Anyone care to recommend your mechanic? We tried one place out, took our NEW car in for routine maintenance, and had them tell us it needed $1300 worth of work. Then when I told them to forget it, they tried to sell me on all sorts of financing options! 
We're on the city's NW side, but I'd be willing to drive a little ways to a really good, honest mechanic who has reasonable rates.
Oh, and our car is a Honda. Does anyone use one of the local Honda dealers for car repairs and maintenance? If so, what do you think of them?

I've been taking my 1997 Honda to Blackmon's Garage on West Ave in between Lockill Selma & Blanco for YEARS. The owner is an old family friend. Really great guy. The shop looks like a total dump of a garage...its really old and small, but they do great work. I won't take my care anywhere else. They're done work for my husband's family too, as well as family friends and no one has ever had a bad word to say about them. They've even done stuff on my brother-in-law's 1968 Camaro.
?The owner, Paul Blackmon, is on-site pretty much every day, and a lot of the guys have been working there for a really long time.?
They stay really busy too - definitely call to schedule your car to come in.?
I took my old car to Car Pro on 281 near Bitters. It's not fancy, but reasonably priced and I think, pretty trustworthy.
