Boothbay Restaurants

We ALWAYS go to McSeagull's.  I like the food, but the service isn't always great.  Just looking for some new ideas.  We are going on the train ride/pumpkin picking thing this weekend and will get some lunch in the area.  Where do you usually eat?   We want kid friendly, pub style food, and of course good beers on tap!  Thanks for suggestions!

Re: Boothbay Restaurants

  • DH and I went on a little vacation there last year and one of the places we enjoyed was Robinson's Wharf in Southport. I remember they had Dogfish Head IPA on tap.

  • In addition to Robinson's (not sure if it's still open - it's about time to close up for the season), Kaler's is a good option.  It's just down the street from McSeagull's and similar in style.  I've found the service there to be great.
  • We always go to Pier 1 Pizza for beer, pizza and popcorn. And tourist watching.
  • <-- Knows a little something about Boothbay.  :)

We're big fans of the Boathouse Bistro.  Huge menu, great small plates and good beers on tap.  http://www.theboathousebistro.com/ (just not sure if they're still open since it's after Columbus Day.

    Second the recommendation for Robinson's.

The Thistle Inn is wonderful.  I'd probably stick to lunchtime or happy hour for kid-friendliness.
