Re: Morning!

  • Morning! I'm so glad it's Friday. Work has been very busy and I've been going out a lot this week. I was out Monday and out late Wednesday and last night. I can't wait to not do much this weekend!

QOTD: I take the train to and from work. I wish I lived close enough to walk or bus on ugly days.

  • Morning, LO is having naked time in her play gym at the moment so I have some "Free" time for me. Today we're going to my Mum's today to introduce E to her hiking ladies. I'm not 100% percent so I'm not going to be doing too much past that. I hope these stomach cramps go away today so I can have a good weekend.

This weekend is up in the air because DH is thinking of changing his next car, we have a RS3 on order but it won't arrive for a while and the other two guys that are getting new cars have got theirs.  So now DH is looking at 6 month old M3's. So he may end up going to look at a car in Munich tomorrow.

QOTD: I drive 99.999% of the time. It's hard to get anywhere without a car here as we're out of the city. I would love to be able to walk and take public transport more though.

  • Good morning! We?re off to go grocery shopping in a bit and run some other errands. Tomorrow we?re going to a cake tasting at a bakery (yum yum yum) and on Sunday to go watch a some wood carving for christmas decorations.

QOTD: We drive everywhere now that we live in the burbs. When we lived in town I walked or biked almost everywhere or took public transport, but now it takes to long to do any of those

  • Hi there.  I'm having a really bad day so far.  I opened my email this morning to find an email from my mom saying our dog died.  I'm so sad..

We'll probably go out to dinner tonight and we're going to a friend's house for dinner tomorrow.  I need to be getting the house ready cause my mom is coming on Sunday, but I have no motivation.   :*(

QOTD:  My feet or a bus if I want to go anywhere during the week.  H takes the car to work.  I CAN'T wait to have a car again.  It will make life much easier.  2 more months and I will..

  • Good morning! It was such a quick week I'm going to a steak dinner tonight with my man, then out for tex-mex tomorrow. And we go to Paris in 1 week!

I'm going to hide a question about Brazilian waxes in here.Has anyone had a bad reaction to one? Was there any discomfort in the following days from clothes rubbing against it (if you were walking a lot?

QOTD: I bus and walk. It's pretty good. I think the bus system here is really good and pretty cheap. I would rather walk everywhere but...well, I'm lazy.

  • Morning!

I'm hopefully going to work on some my presentation for school this morning and go to the gym this afternoon. We have no plans yet for tonight.

QOTD: I take the bus to school and often when I go to do something around town. I take the train to go to the other cities if I'm going alone, I don't live driving here. If DH and I go somewhere, 95% of the time we drive. DH walks to work though.

EDIT--- that sucks Emily, sorry to hear that :(.

I once went to a cheap-o place that used the hot wax with the cloth strips and she burned me. As in a layer of skin came off, I bled and stayed in my house for two days with no underwear on lathering on neosporin. It wasn't pretty. I've also had it done with the hard wax at nicer places and that was fine. In the past I've felt a bit of discomfort in the following day or two. I'd do it 2-3 days before a holiday. And go somewhere nice!

  • Emily - That is so sad about your dog. **hugs**

Meggers - I'm curious about the responses to your question.

Good morning everyone! I worked out this morning, now I'm working for the rest of the day, then I'm off to Singapore tonight to meet H. He's been in Japan for most of the week so I'm excited to see him. I'm also super excited to go to Singapore as ExpatJen claims that it is the un-India. I need a break from India right now, so that should hit the spot.

QOTD: Transport? Um, I'm basically a hermit since we came to India. Wink We have a driver, but H usually needs him all day. In theory I could walk, but there is nowhere within walking distance of our apartment that I particularly want to go to. I would definitely like to change my mode of transport. I am looking forward to being able to drive again, although my ideal situation would involve walking and biking as primary modes of transportation.

The very first time I did it was a little painful after, but I think she just did a sh!te job.  She did the same spot over and over.  That was the only time I had discomfort with clothes on for about a day.  Never went back to her again!!

  • I totally don't want to be the debbie downer of the thread.  So let's talk about Meggers Q.  :)

And Meggers, is the Tex-Mex the real deal?  H and I like to go to places that say they're Tex-Mex and find out for ourselves.  We haven't found a place that is yet!

  • Emily - I'm sorry about your dog Sad

Meggers - I've never had any horrible reactions or extreme discomfort.  I always found the first few hours to be a littel sensitive, but no real problem walking around.  Just wear somewhat loose clothes.  If possible, to reduce any irritation or bumps, don't go within a week before or after your period.  Once I figured out that little trick, I never had any irritation afterwards.  I've had them done both with strips and hard wax, and didn't really notice a big difference.

So happy it's Friday.  Should be a quiet night tonight and not too much going on this weekend.  Looking forward to relaxing.

QOTD: I take public transportation most of the time.  Although I just got my drivers license, so we're starting to drive a bit more out of the city

  • Good morning!

I'm sorry about your dog Emily :(

Meggers Q: I've never had a bad reaction, but the skin is sensitive for a day or two afterward. I usually just moisturize and once the skin is not sensitive anymore, use a body scrub in the shower to exfoliate and help reduce ingrown hairs.

Had a rough morning. M was up most of the night for some reason. I am tired! Then after I got home from dropping him off at school, H biitched at me for not being able to IMMEDIATELY find some stupid insurance paper that I had filed. Urgh. We had a screaming match and now everything is cool, not the way I wanted to start the day though!

QOTD:I walk. On an average day I walk almost 10k. I don't drive and it's rare that I'm even in a car. I took the bus here a couple of times, but I can't stand when it gets too crowded and tend to jump off and walk the rest of the way. I hope we can find a house with garden in town, if we have to move further out of the city, I'll have to figure something out. ie, learn to drive stick.

  • We've never been, so I'm not sure. The menu looks good, and I will be enjoying my meal with a margarita. We got a voucher online. It's ?19 for 2 starters, 2 mains and a cocktail each, so I'm not too picky lol.

The place we're going to tonight we also got with a voucher, so I hope it's also delicious.

On the topic of vouchers, I love them. The wax I'm enquiring about would also be bought with a voucher.

  • TGIF! After work. I hope to do some Halloween costume shopping with DH in Brussels - we found a British store that supposedly has a good selection and we have a "Halloween Ball' event on the 29th to go to. This weekend I really want to clean the apartment and attempt to get caught up on editing photos. As always, we are so behind. Saturday night I have a "stone soup party" to attend. Apparently, the hosts provide the chicken stock in a LARGE pot and everyone brings a handful of uncooked ingredients to toss in the soup. It should be interesting...

QOTD: Drive, drive, drive. We can walk into our town's Grand Place (main square) for dinner and drinks though. Sometimes I take the train to the airport, but for everyday things (getting to work, grocery shopping) - we drive :)

  • Morning....

So sorry, Emily.  That is hard.

Meggers -- Once and they used the strips and it hurt like a b*itch.  I go to a great place in London and they use hard wax.  Maybe a little sensitive right after, but it goes away in a few hours.

I have today off and don't have to work this weekend!  I am so excited.

QOTD:  I walk 75% of the time, and the other is spent either on the bus or the train. I walk to work and everywhere local, it's going into meetings or London that I need mass transit.

I learned here too! And on the left side! I still don't like driving much (I don't in any city). I have started taking the car to work in the mornings and then I take the bus and walk the rest of the way home (DH drives home later). We're moving apartments at the end of the month, but we're luckily staying in the city so I can keep walking. I much prefer it.

Meggers, I just learned an amazing new trick......mix a bottle of oil with a teaspoon or so of rubbing alcohol. It's soothing AND disinfecting. I use Jojoba oil because it's not at all greasy. It's fantastic for razor burn or irritation.

  • Good morning! Today is the last day of my doctor ordered "vacation" from work. If I don't have further complications over the weekend I can go back on Monday. Right now though it's 5:30am and I can't sleep. I feel queasy, crampy and just...weird. QOTD: car. These days generally H drives me and picks me up so he can use the car while I'm gone. It's the only practical way to get around in this area; I do wish we had a 2nd car though!

That's a great deal!  A margarita makes everything taste delicious.. hehe

  • Good Afternoon...well I am packing right now as we are going to London for the weekend!

QOTD:  Train/bus, I don't mind it. Sometimes I do miss my car, but it would be a real pain to have one here in the city.  I don't miss car, gas and insurance payments.
