What the heck is a Santa Key?  Embarrassed  A couple of you girls mentioned it in the holiday plans post.

Re: Santa Key

  • I was wondering that myself... :)
  • It's a key for Santa, I think for people who dont have a fire place. Taylor, Jenn has it pinned on one of her boards on Pinterest.

  • If you figure out where to buy one, let me know please. I really wanted to get one last year and was told Hallmark was the place to go, but when I asked about them they said that they didn't get any in last year.

Hopefully you gals will know where they might sell some.

  • We will be making them as gifts for friends and of course for out family :)
  • Thats so cute! Is it bad though that we may skip it? We have one of those pretend fireplaces, so no chimney, hopefully it will be many years before LO puts 2 and 2 together.

I saw some on Amazon. I might just make one for my nephew, since he is 3 now, should have done this last year. Oh well. Hope you find one.

  • You can get skeleton keys on ebay for really cheap. I ordered some and am going to make some for gifts as well!
  • I have been waiting to do a Santa Key for the last few years!  So excited that we can start the tradition this year.

We're using a decorative key that my mum has and attaching a ribbon to it.  It won't be like the ones you buy, but cute/different nonetheless.  I just love the idea behind it and the poem that goes with it.

  • Hallmark at PV had them last year but sold out before I got one.  So I went over to Home Depot and bought 2 skelton keys (2 come in a package) that were gold colored and attached some velvet red christmas ribbon to one of them.  I had cross stitched a christmas card and copied the santa key poem into that.  In all, I spent under five bucks.  The skeleton key was a dollar and the sewing kit was 2 bucks after Christmas at Michaels one year.
