  • Let's see: Started running more regularly, got new running shoes that may not be a great fit for me, continued to run on Sunday when my ankle hurt, and then waited for the problem to go away on its own all week. Confused

    Doctor said I have tendinitis in my Achilles, and wrapped my ankle. I have to ice it a zillion times a day and not run for a while and get more supportive shoes. Very irritating since I *just* signed up for a 5K run in mid-November and now I don't know if I'll be able to do it because I'm supposed to be training, haven't run in a week and probably won't for at least another week.

    aww thanks lady. It was feeling a little better after a lot of rest and ice over the weekend but today I was on it too much and didn't ice enough and... sigh. I'm soooo over this. Seems like such a dumb, simple "injury" and I want to just ignore it and go running. But everybody keeps telling me not to make it worse or I'll regret it.

    aww thanks lady. It was feeling a little better after a lot of rest and ice over the weekend but today I was on it too much and didn't ice enough and... sigh. I'm soooo over this. Seems like such a dumb, simple "injury" and I want to just ignore it and go running. But everybody keeps telling me not to make it worse or I'll regret it.

    I was in the same situation with my knee recently. But I'm stupid so I kept playing...although it's generally fine. So I lucked out.

    Hmm, you're putting bad ideas in my head  :)  I'm going to keep resting, icing, elevating this week and see if I can manage a short run this weekend.

    I do stupid things to my body all the time and push it way too far. Don't be stupid like me! I seriously think I have some kind of magic angel working to make sure it doesn't break in two. haha.
