  • I believe you can rent one from your local Home Depot for pretty cheap, I just don't know if they provide the shampoo or not! Good luck finding one!
  • I think Kroger rents them too.

  • Home depot rents them.  They are heavy duty commercial cleaners.  And I dont think they give you shampoo.  Though when we rented one, it wasnt to clean the carpet, it was to suck up all the water from our sump pump backing up, so we didnt need any shampoo.

  • Can I ask how much the rental and shampoo was? I really need to get my carpets cleaned, but haven't found a good enough deal to pull the trigger. I wouldn't be opposed to doing it myself.

  • I think we had it for 6 hours and we paid a total of something like $46.  It's worth it. My carpets look so much better after cleaning them. And they didn't look terrible before I did it, but boy was I grossed out when I dumped the first bucket of dirty water.  Holy dirty!!!
We also bought a HUGE bottle of the soap and will have enough to do a second time.  I'm hoping to do this twice a year.  (Spring and Fall)

That is worth it!  I think I'll be trying to do that next weekend.  My carpets are, admittedly, pretty gross from the dog.  Thanks for the info!!!
