Back from the hospital

But not with a baby!  Ha, bet I fooled you!

Anyway, I got a stomach flu that started up yesterday morning around 4am.  By 7am I was completely dehydrated  and my doctor told me to come in because I'm too far along to not be able to keep even liquids down.  I went into the hospital, they hooked me up to an IV (although the first nurse who attempted totally effed it up and had to get another woman to do it -- 3 pokes and I hate needles!) and I was kept there until 12 today to be observed.

Luckily I started feeling better as soon as I got hooked up to the IV, but it was pretty miserable being in the hospital.  Ugh.

Just thought I'd update you all.  Baby and I are doing fine now but I'm still feeling drained.  I feel like I haven't been around much lately, but I'll try to remedy that!

  • Glad all is ok! The same thing happened to me with dehydration a month or so ago. Those IV needles are PAINFUL! And I don't normally have an issue with needles. I've heard they use larger gauges for pg women so maybe that's why. In any event, I was worried when I saw the subject line--so happy you're home :) LO will be here soon!
  • Glad to hear that everything is ok! I hope you feel much better soon!!!

  • Thanks ladies!

Yeah, MrsBini, those IV needles do hurt!  I wonder why they use larger guages on pregnant women (if that's true).   I guess we just have to keep in mind we are so close to having our babies out and being done with this pregnancy stuff for a while.  How have you been feeling lately?  I know you weren't working last week because of the baby scare...everything still going well?

Yep, everything is good and I can go back to work tomorrow (we'll see how it goes--I spent less than an hour browsing Target with my sister yesterday and got really bad back/pelvic pain. Sigh.) We are both so close! And you're officially full term, yay!
