My heart melted last night

Last night Z, myself and DS went to dinner, did some shopping and took DS to see Lion King 3D in theaters. Everywhere we went I asked for DS's hand as he is only 3 and can't take off on his own yet. DS insisted on taking Z's hand instead of my own. Then instead of wanting me to pick him up he wanted Z to pick him up. He never insists on going to someone else. I rarely bring guys around him and he hasn't had anyone else around him in 10 months. It really caught me off guard but I was happy.

The part that really melted my heart. Z was holding DS and I offered to take him as he is pretty heavy. Z said no, he was fine and Z just soaked it all up. Later that evening we finally exchanged "I love you's" and it just made the evening end perfectly. Whenever he tells me that he enjoyed our evenings he always says he enjoyed the time with both DS and myself. He always includes him.

  • Aww, that's very sweet.  I'm glad they get along so well.

  • I know exactly what you mean -- BF never tells me he misses me. He always says "I miss you guys", meaning both me and DS. (We live 40 miles apart and BF works 24 hours shifts every 3rd day)

It is definitely a sign you met the right person. Especially when their real dad is a less than stellar dad or not involved at all like my XH.
