As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. HP DV7 Laptop
Hi - I'm new to this board... I have a question about my HP DV7 laptop.
The caps lock and number light was blinking so we read a lot online and found that it could be a bad connection of the cpu and the heat sink (I think that's what they called it). So DH was able to put a piece of copper and thermal paste on it. We booted it up and it actually turned on... (we also bought a new CPU which didn't work so we were able to return that)
After it was on for about 2 minutes it would just shut itself off. We don't know what else to do. I am thinking of selling it on ebay as a non-working computer for parts.
Any one have luck fixing this problem or selling a computer on ebay? I hate to sell out 2 year old computer that we paid $900 originally for about $150 but what else is there to do with it, other than have a really expensive door stop?
