I had the chance to meet Dan Wheldon and get his autograph back in 2006. He was a nice guy and I always enjoyed watching him race.

this is just awful.  A sad, sad day for the racing world.    My brother had the opportunity to race go karts with Dan several times and they became friends.  Dan was such a great guy, he will be missed.

Im not a race car fan but when I heard this and saw it, it just broken my heart. RIP and thoughts and prayers out to his family.

I was following the race [not a big racing fan, but I still follow when I can], and I heard about the crash. I was hoping he would pull through. Ugh.

This video made me cry. It just makes me realize how fleeting life is. His oldest son is two weeks older than my DS and Dan himself was the same age as my partner when he passed yesterday.

I am also not a race fan, but I was just watching the channel out of a blue, when suddenly this wreck occurred and I was shocked to see the later proceedings.
