Can I transfer any paid ipad apps to my new iphone?

I have some paid ipad apps and wanted to know if I can also add it to my (new) iphone?

Re: Can I transfer any paid ipad apps to my new iphone?

  • You can have your apps on up to 5 devices. So, if you buy an app you can have it on your iPhone, iPad, your spouses iPhone and even a friend's iPhone.

Whomever you share it with, you need to trust them enough because they'll need your log in information to iTunes if they ever want them updated. If not, you can update them and log out and give them back their device.

You can put it on your iPhone if only the iPad app also is an iPhone version.

If you are putting an app (for ex. Uno) from iPad to iPhone you do this:

    From your iPhone search Uno.

    Purchase it.

In a few seconds it'll tell you that you've already purchased it and would you like to download it again.

    Done!

    Perfect thank you!

  • An even easier, way, if you have activated iCloud, is this:

    Go to the App Store.

    Go to Updates.

At the top, choose "Not On This iPhone."

    Tap the little cloud icon.

It will take you through your sign-on and download the app.

I have activated iCloud... I am on iTunes (in my iPhone area), clicked on the "Apps" link at the top, but I don't see anything for "Updates"...

  • This method works on the iPhone or iPad, not in iTunes. On you iPhone or iPad, visit the App Store and follow the steps. Sorry...I should have been more specific.

  • Before you can transfer anything - the biggest question: are they universal apps? Some apps are iPhone-only, and some are iPad-only. If they have a little "+" in their App Store icon, they're universal and run on both devices. If not - no dice.
