Re: PG/Mom Check-In

  • June is turning into quite the busy month for WCF babies :)

Doing well so far, just really tired.  I need to be on progesterone injections for the next seven weeks, until a placenta could take over this task.  It's amazing that when I heard the "you're pregnant" another couple months of injections didn't phase me.

I go back for bloodwork again this morning to make sure my HCG level is rising appropriately.  The specialist will do one more HGC check and then an ultrasound to look for a heartbeat before releasing me to a regular OB/GYN.  Guess I'll need to find one of those.

  • I think I'm due mid to late June.  As early as the 19th or as late as the 27th.  I'm hoping my Midwife will do a dating ultrasound since my cycles have been really irregular.  I've had awful cramping and a little spotting, so my Midwife told me to stop pumping ASAP.  I have 4200oz of milk frozen, but it's hard to just get your body to stop producing milk, after you've been mass producing like a cow!

Kennedy is doing great.  Eating all kinds of stuff, sitting, standing, playing.  Full of smiles.  I am so excited that I was able to get an appointment for December 7th at a clinic in Jacksonville for a developmental and cognitive evaluation.  People come from all over the world for their Down syndrome evals, and they are booking for SEPTEMBER!!!  She offered me a cancellation, even though there were a bunch of other people she should have called.

  • I can FEEL baby !  So weird.  It is still flutters, but I am such a light sleeper, that it actually kept me up last night.  I think he/she was lulled to sleep all day sat and sun when we were up and out and about (that was only the 2nd weekend since I started feeling better that I was actually able to get out and do things), so the baby isn't used to all that rest all day from my movements!  He/She was quite active last night, and I still can't feel it on the outside yet, so I am in BIG trouble when I do...I will NEVER sleep lol.

Our a/s is scheduled for the 27th.  I CANNOT wait any longer...I am actually considering calling the doc and begging to get in this week!

Jen, I am glad you have nothing new to report. :) How are you feeling?

Kelly, I'm so jealous you're feeling movement! I can't wait to feel it! I keep trying to sit really still at night, hoping I'll feel something, but no luck yet.

Not much new to report here either. Nausea seems to finally be gone but I've been sick with a nasty cold for about a week. Still really tired. I did take out my belly button ring for the first time in 12 years last night, in preparation for a baby belly! I'm kind of sad about it, even though it's not like I show it off anymore...but still, it's the end of an era!

Other than that I'm just dying as I wait to find out the sex on November 4. It honestly seems like forever away!

  • I'm doing well, just getting so impatient!  I'm so ready to meet this little girl, but still have about 14 weeks to go.  I'm hoping getting started on the nursery soon will help.

Baby seems to be doing well.  She kicks a ton, mostly around 5:30 in the morning, about 20 minutes before my alarm goes off.  We're going today for a follow up U/S with our MFM doctor, so hopefully that goes well.  I think they're just checking on her feet and making sure everything else still looks good and there's no signs of other issues now that she's bigger.  I'm excited to see her again, but I really hope this is the last time we need to until she gets here!

  • Im doing much much better, however the heightened sense of smell is still here. Sweet are off limits, it just leaves a really weird after taste so I would end up wanting to brush my teeth.

We attended an all day traditional indian wedding over the weekend and I felt fine all through out. I even had a great time on the dance floor. It was a great getaway with DH.

I definitely, need to set a dentist appointment because I definitely have the pregnancy gingivitis, ugh!

SOOOOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW JUNE MOMS-TO-BE!!!

  • I am almost afraid to post here since I am afraid I might jinx myself, LOL.  But I have no reason to think anything is going wrong this time around.  My symptoms are kicking in full gear, especially my tiredness.  My back pain and boob soreness has somewhat subsided which I wish would stick around.  My symptoms are calming to me, ha!

I called and made an doctors appointment for Nov 3.  I was really hoping to get in sooner but they said they won't see me until then.  Dude, I don't even want to really see the doctor (ok, I do) but I just want to see what my Beta numbers are.  I just want to hear that my number is a good strong number for how far along I am.  Sigh, I guess I will have to be patient.

I am torn about embracing this pregnancy or being overly cautious not to buy into the idea I will have a baby.  I keep telling myself I have NO reason to think this won't be our baby but I am so afraid of the heartbreak of losing a baby.  I will feel sooooooo much better once I see/hear the heartbeat!

You will feel it probably within the next week or two!  Yay!!!  It is like little flutters and some jabbing.  But, DH still can't feel it on the outside yet, so I am excited for that.  We find out Oct 27 and I am going crazy waiting!

  • Kathy- I totally understand your hesitation about embracing your pregnancy. For some reason, my Dr. won't measure my beta levels either. I don't think they realize how much stress their causing by refusing a simple blood test. I don't see the bug deal.
Alzi- I hope you're part of the boom too. Fingers crossed for you.
Mrs.Mew- I'm feeling fine. Thanks for asking. Different symptoms come & go. Nothing major. I need to take my belly button ring out too at some point. I think I'm too old for it now anyway.

  • Wow, so many PG ladies!  Yay!

I'm doing great!  We have been taking L&D classes at the hospital and H is getting very excited about being my coach and how much I'm going to need him, it's really cute.  I had my first Braxton Hicks contraction the other day.  Belly got crazy hard.  She's kicking hard and often, it's really cool, except for when I'm nauseus and dying of heartburn (pretty sure she aims for my stomach often lately).    It's really weird also, she's on my right side, you can see and feel that side is harder and bigger. I have my 30 week sonogram next Tuesday to make sure she's the right size. I'm pretty sure she's huge.  Which reminds me, took my glucose test a week ago today and haven't heard anything so hopefully that's good news!

  • Oh man. My little girl is turning into a monster. She is way too smart and cute for her own good. She like "telling secrets" - she comes up to us and whispers nonsense in our ears. She is also really obsessed with scaring us with Scary Spider, a Halloween decoration MIL has. I really, really miss cuddling. Some days when she isn't feeling well she will cuddle with my on the couch for a minute before she realizes I enjoy it and then she runs off. :( I need to curb my baby fever somehow. I feel like I need to have another one right this minute.

    DO IT!  Ha!

This age is fun but like you I miss the cuddling.  Macy's new favorite thing to do is the chicken dance.  She breaks out into the dance at the most random times too, LOL.

Your belly will stretch and you will not be able to wear it anymore. They sell maternity rings that are super long though. You don't want to see what happened to my hole, its more of a wink now and it closed up that way (I chose not to wear a piercing) lol.

Don't worry, it will happen. My OB said I wasn't dialated, and that I had nothing to worry about him going on vacation the week of my due date, nothing was "happening anytime soon". I went into labor a few days after he said that. I believe I was 3 days early.

I'm sure I didn't have to take it out yet, but I knew I would have to eventually and don't care enough about it to get a pregnancy ring. So I just figured, why not now? No point in prolonging the inevitable!

There was really no point in having it the past 6 years anyway - it's not like I wear belly shirts, and I don't even live in FL anymore so I only wear a bathing suit like twice a year. :)

I'm kind of sad about it, even though it's not like I show it off anymore...but still, it's the end of an era!

Other than that I'm just dying as I wait to find out the sex on November 4. It honestly seems like forever away!

Your belly will stretch and you will not be able to wear it anymore. They sell maternity rings that are super long though. You don't want to see what happened to my hole, its more of a wink now and it closed up that way (I chose not to wear a piercing) lol.
