Well, I start Monday with a pinched nerve in my back. I need anti-inflammatories... immediately!
Re: B&M Monday
I had a good weekend. I'm actually just upset it's over.
Rangers to the WORLD SERIES!! Again! -- We watched the game at Houston St. and I got hit on by a girl... Good to know I still got it.

RANGERS!!!!
I was so bummed we couldn't watch the game on Saturday because of a wedding, but luckily, the DJ had the score showing on his iPad, so we kept up that way. Then when he announced the Rangers won, the whole place erupted in cheers and danced to "Celebration" by Kool & The Gang. It was pretty awesome.
One little B&M that's not really a B&M... I have friends that are missionaries in Haiti, and they just posted a picture of a brand newnewnewborn girl who was dropped off at the orphanage because her mother died in childbirth, and her father died a few months ago. She's SO beautiful. I sat here and begged Mack for a while to let us have her, but obviously, he's more rational than I am. I just cried.
It'll be a few years down the road, but we definitely plan on adopting internationally. There are just too many sweet angels out there who need a home. I may not be Mom of the Year, but I'm definitely better than an orphanage!
I am not a huge eggnog fan :-/ I am excited that both SMU and the Rangers won! That's more than I can say for the Cowboys!

This seriously brought tears to my eyes.
I am so sad that she has to go to an orphanage.
Chelsea - DH has always said he wants to give every avenue to a biological child a try but last night randomly mentioned adoption. I know there "are tons of children needing homes in America" and all that but international adoption appeals to us too.
We got tile laid in 3/4 of our kitchen, it looks great so far. Still a lot of work to go though.
There is an orpanage in Hondoras that I helped at for a few weeks right after I graduated high school. I would probably have begged also. For the last 11 years I have sent money to help the orghanage and I get a picture of a child I have "adopted" for the year. The last 4 years have been the same girl and I want to go back so bad but with the wedding last year and now a baby it seems like such a far away dream. The guy who baptisted me goes down every other month and brings me back lots of pictures.
Also I think you are a pretty awesome mom! Hope you get to adopt in a few years like you want!
Jaymi - I've never tried eggnog - it grosses me out, and I'm afraid of the texture of it.
Leslie - yay for tile! I can't wait to see the "after" pictures.
I had a wonderful weekend, even though Saturday night I came down with James' cold. I have been taking Aleve for colds, and that stuff is amazing. One pill, all day, and I was up and going and painting and doing all kinds of stuff. Normally, I'm a big pile of worthlessness on the couch when I'm sick. However, I cannot take it at night, because I do not sleep well at all. I was going to sleep in a bit this morning because I was exhausted from not sleeping, but as James was about to leave, Crispin threw up, and he couldn't be late to class so I had to get up and clean it. Yay, Monday.
Also, my parents brought the piano over to my house last night, and I'm so excited. The room I put it in used to be the dining room, and it has high ceilings, so the acoustics are great. It sounded so pretty this morning when I pecked on a couple keys! James and I are both going to take lessons to learn how to play, and I'm very excited about that.
My college roommate got engaged over the weekend, and I'm so happy for her.
Also, any T&Ps you could spare would be appreciated. My sister and her H are going through some really tough issues in their relationship, and well, they just need T&Ps in a big way.
Remember the girl I told you about on Friday? She posted that the president of UPS called her less than 10 minutes after she sent her email and that her phone was then delivered to her at work within two hours, a completely different address from where it was originally to be sent. With one million plus iPhones delivering on Friday, this seems unlikely but whatever.
The president of UPS? Yeeeeeeah. That didn't happen. I call BS.
Angie, T&Ps for your family for sure. And I echo Leslie's piano jealousy. We're definitely having one in our next house!
The only time I ever had eggnog before meeting DH was at a holiday party my grandparents threw when I was younger and my dad spiked it with Crown Royal. I don't care much for it either but Jack Daniels or maybe it's Southern Comfort make a flavored one that is heavenly. I guess you could say it's grown on me a bit but I don't have an obsession with it like DH.
I am pooped today. The combo of Body Pump on Saturday after not doing it for awhile/new routine and walking 5 hours at the fair yesterday has done me in. Plus I drank alot (for me anyway) and ate terrible as you can imagine. I just feel like one big salty bloaty sore mess.
I love eggnog but I can only drink so much of it--like one or two glasses each Thanksgiving and Christmas tops. I mix it in the blender with ice cream and I think it's about the best holiday dessert there is.
But no alcohol in mine--I think it ruins it.

Just do it!
I wonder when my husband is going to start closing the garbage bags, putting the cap on the milk back, or tightening down caps on other stuff. I also wonder how much his mom did for him so that he could walk around so oblivious to these things. He actually put out a garbage bag last night that hadn't been closed at all! We have skunks, raccoons and possum in our neighborhood so he's very lucky that it wasn't scattered all over kingdom come this morning. Ugh. I love him, but really?
I actually had a great weekend thanks to the Aggies and the Rangers. I'm already excited about next weekend because my dad and brother are coming over to spend all day with us. We're having a pasta feast, watching the Aggies and the Rangers.
DH put away the broccoli on Friday night and on Saturday I saw that he had used a rubber band to secure the lid to the bottom. Our storage containers have that rubber lining in the lid and I usually take the ring out and wash it and it didn't get put back in. So instead of putting the ring in so that it would work right or finding another lid that was complete, he just grabbed a rubber band. Like you, I often wonder but I died with laughter. I get he's not used to cooking or really having anything to do with a kitchen...someone should invent a class on this stuff.
She.is.important! It's a FB status, so it must be true.

Oh, Brianna... I meant to ask earlier, how did you pinch a nerve??? That sounds really painful
I get them in my back (like right underneath my shoulder blades) about once a year. I haven't had one since our engagment night almost two years ago, so I guess I was overdue.
I am actually not too sure how I get them, but they're awful. They make me sick to my stomach from the pain if I move just right.

The Taylor Swift concert was so fun, but the rest of the weekend was kind of a bust. I am mentally exhausted. Must shake the funk though because I am headed to Vegas on Friday!
Glad T-Swift was good, boo for the rest of the weekend. Regarding Vegas, you must report back and let me know what you did. We still have like one thing planned for our trip in three weeks. I badly need to work on that.
There is this thing going around FB about how we should respect military wives because of the sacrafice they make by being married to a soldier, which I totally get. It annoys me though because it is basically talking down to everyone else about "how dare you take things for granted." Ironically, the girl who posted it followed up with a post about her current pregnancy and her one year old and how she sometimes wishes she wasn't so fertile.
I worked this past weekend and had aunt Flo so it wasn't ideal, but I have today and tomorrow off...woohoo. Oh and we got our cable and internet Friday so I finally am connected again and have a DVR. I feel so spoiled now
Bri-Ouch!
Leslie-I just read that
I hate that they are having so many hurdles. It breaks my heart.
I'm in a funk. I hate it.
Me!
We watched it! DH is a big fan (as in reads the graphic novels).
Leslie - Oh man, now you want me wanting to find or DIY some Legend of the Hidden Temple costumes.
Bio Good Times
DH and I went to the fair yesterday, also. We were only there for about 2 hrs, but we were pooped. I did like their deep fried cake balls, their fried cheesecake, though, was not a winner. There were so many things to do, but they are so expensive!
My only B&M is that rent a center is coming to get our furniture today. DH got tired of paying $200.00 every month. Our couch and love seat are so comfy! But everyone told us that we could have bought a brand new living room set by now if werent paying for the furniture.
So it looks like we'll be sitting on the floor at least until Friday.
And I am so sad to hear about Giuliana Rancic having breast cancer. I'm just glad they found it so early on, and I wish her a speedy recovery. I'm such a big fan of her and Bill. They deserve all the happiness in the world.
My asthma has been so bad lately, it's making me miserable. I'm trying to get back into my cardio routine, but it makes it kind of hard when I have trouble breathing. Looks like I have to find a doctor and see what else he/she can do to help me.
Random question - has anyone been to Nacogdoches?!?!? DH and I are looking for somewhere to go this weekend. Just Sat-Sun, and it came up on my google search. Otherwise, any recommendations? Has to be within 3-5 hour drive....
