My next door neighbors are super awesome. They just had their first baby on Friday by induction and apparently the mom pushed and pushed and they said her pelvis was too small so they went in for a c/s. Come to find out that the baby had a BM and swallowed some of it. So she is in the NICU at first on oxygen and they projected that she would be able to come home today. I've been letting their dogs out and keeping in touch with them. I just went to put them inside since it's raining and ran into J (the new dad). He said that mom is going to stay with baby C until Friday when she hopes to be released since she now has pneumonia
but he will be back home tonight. I want to do something for them but not sure what. Make a meal? Send something? Just visit?
Not a very fun first time parent experience ![]()
Re: Any ideas?
Sending prayers that their little one gets better soon!
I would bring a meal over- maybe a frozen one to heat up later in the week or weekend when mom and baby come home, offer to continue helping with the dogs, snacks are another good idea (peanut butter crackers, oatmeal bars, fruit, juice).
Ditto the meal.
Prayers their little one gets better soon.
I would do a meal too or gift card to a restaurant that delivers or at least does take out.
Poor baby! That happened to a friend of mine & her baby. It was a rough week or so, but once they were home everything was ok. I'll pray that the same happens for your neighbors.
Holy cow, we're going to have a little sister!!
Could you do a gift card for somewhere close to the hospital now, so he can run and grab something for them while they are at the hospital? Then, maybe a meal when they come home. I am guessing he will probably be in and out all week.
Poor baby.
Our neighbor's little boy was hospitalized in the NICU for the same reason. He was there for 3 months. He was a very, very sick little guy. I hope things get better soon!
One of the best things given to us after our first child was frozen Prego lasangne, a bag of salad and bread to go with it. They can eat it whenever. Don't forget the cookies tho! Maybe offer some help with whatever they might need.
Prayers to them all. This just breaks my heart.
I was thinking the same thing. Then she could get a non-hospital meal without him making something and bringing it to her.
