But in addition to that, Regions started charging $10/mo for accounts that don't have $x amount deposited into them each month!
We have three linked checking accounts. Two are just for our individual fun money accounts for Starbucks, dog bowties, pedicures, whatever shiit I find at Target that I must have. So obviously we're not depositing gobs of money (well, not too much) into these accounts to blow on stuff like that.
So now we're paying $4/mo per checking account plus $10/mo for each account that doesn't meet the minimum deposit. So $36/mo in bank fees for our direct deposit accounts that require approximately zero service from Regions. I try to be open-minded and understanding about stuff like this, but that seems crazy!
Re: I'm okay with the $4/mo per checking account fees...
Go in and talk to them about the option of something along the lines of a "Purpose Account". It's something that we offer so that people like you guys can have the option of having a household account + his/hers/kids/vacation etc. It's all linked to the "main" account (like the one your direct deposit would go into.
ETA: I have no idea if they actually offer that but it might be worth asking and I would go in and talk in person if you can.
I love how you're talking in LB terms
I've still got cruising on the brain. $432 would have covered a chunk of our S&S bill for last week.
I was going to comment and say I love the way you put in those terms MJ!
Haha! Thank you, thank you.
FWIW, here is a site that has the forms to switch to VyStar -- http://www.vystarcu.org/home/howto/switchkit ... there is a file there with their fees, too... which is pretty much nothing unless you overdraw or try to deposit an empty envelope in the ATM..
