Loestrin 24 Fe...Bleeding?
Hey everyone,
I am on my 3rd week of Loestrin 24 Fe, and I started bleeding about 2 days ago. It's not like a period bleed, but it's not exactly spotting either. It's heavy enough that I need to wear a pad, pantyliners won't work, and at night there is no bleeding at all. Is this something I should talk to my doc about, or is it normal? This is my first time on any form of birth control, is my body just adjusting to the hormones and this will stop after a little while? I was hoping someone on here might be able to tell me if I need to worry before I call up my doc about it.
Thanks!
Re: Loestrin 24 Fe...Bleeding?
My husband and I got married at the end of May, I started taking Loestrin 24 Fe one month before we got married. Like you, this was my first form of birth control. Just as the two of you have said, I did have bleeding that lasted 4-5 days or just a day or two of light spotting. In my case, it did stop around my third month on the pill. My doctor said that it was completely normal and to not be concerned. Since then, the only thing I've noticed that I don't really like is that on the first and second day of the brown pill I am extremely emotional but the "periods" are so much lighter! I hope this helps!
OB/GYN nurse here. Irregular bleeding is normal for the first 3-6 cycles on any new form of contraception. If is becomes intolerable talk to your doctor, but until then they will probably just tell you to continue your packs as scheduled and make sure that you are taking the pill at the same time every day and not missing any doses!
Hope this helps!
