How was your weekend?

We frequently post about our plans for the weekend, but not how the weekend went.  How was your weekend?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Mine went really well.  I surprised FI with dinner at the Dirty Dog Jazz Club for his birthday.  He was absolutely surprised when we arrived, and excited.  He loves jazz, and really enjoyed the evening.  The food was crazy expensive, but delicious.  All in all, I was very happy with how it all went.

Then on Sunday, on his actual birthday, we took a chance on the weather and headed out to Yates Cider Mill.  I am so glad that we did because the weather cleared and was absolutely perfect to go.  It was a little busy when we got there, but a lot of people must have had the same idea as us because it got busier as time went on.  As usual, the apple cider and donuts were delicious!  Thinking about it right now makes me crave more.  It is good thing that Yates is really quite far away from where I live and work. Smile

Other than that though, I did very little else.  Not much in the way of any chores were accomplished by me over the weekend.  Oops. Devil

  • Mine was ok.  Sat. night I went to Pizza House in AA w/my friend, we haven't seen each other in a few months, and it was good to just go w/o the kids & DH so we could just talk & catch up.

Yesterday I went to church while DH stayed home w/the kids, since DD wasn't feeling good & DS is getting over a cough.  I hit JcPenney & Meijer afterwards, a lot quicker on my own & easier to try on stuff at JCP w/o worrying about the kids being antsy.  My parents & aunt came down for the afternoon/evening.

  • My weekend was good!  Saturday I went to a friends baby shower, went shopping with my sister and mom and then went with DH and hung out at my sister's with my family for dinner.  Sunday I went to church and out to lunch with my family, went to the cider mill with my sister and nephews and realized that maple glazed blueberry donuts are freakin amazing!  Then I came home and was super lazy for the rest of the day other than making dinner.
  • The weekend started out rocky and ended well.  DH and I had a spat on Saturday - mostly me being anxious and mostly him being annoyed.  Got to visit my aunt and baby cousin - yay for getting in my baby fix this week!  I got to hold her for like an hour - it was great.  Then, dinner/bonfire with the parents and some aunts/uncles/cousins.  The little kids were awesome.  I helped them press apple cider.  I got a chance to talk with them more than usual, which was cool.  They're neat little people.

Sunday we had a lazy breakfast at my parents.  In the afternoon DH and I just hung around the house.  Got in a nap.  Made some yummy dinner.

Overall, I'd call this weekend a success!

  • My weekend was pretty good.  Interesting, but pretty good.

My ILs rent the house nextdoor to us, and they got in a disagreement with the tenant (totally the tenant's fault - quite literally never pays on time, doesn't answer their phone or door, etc...)  It was a little crazy for a while there!

Went to a baby shower on Saturday, church on Sunday, and then had orientation for Wayne-Westland's Junior Miss program on Sunday.  I still can't believe I agree to take it over this year.  There's 3.5 weeks until the show.  I don't even have the script written yet.  Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

  • We had a low key weekend.  DH and I went and saw Dream House on Sat.  It was pretty good, other than that we just hung out at home and got things done around here.
