First off congrats on your BFP!
I just had my baby in July and I delivered at St. Josephs North. The hospital is awesome!!! Like a PP said its practically like being in a hotel room. The delivery room is huge and the mother/baby rooms are nice size as well. The food was awesome and you can order as much as you want. They only give your DH one coupon for one meal but I just ordered a bunch of stuff and he ate it too. The nurses are so nice. I actually had a nurse named Tammy who taught our prepared child birth class. She was so great, I dont have words to express how thankful I am to have had such a wonderful nurse to help me through the delivery. She was so encouraging and very calm.
One thing I will warn you of with insurance is St. Josephs North only has private rooms and my insurance (United) only covers semi-private rooms so I have been battling with the hospital and the insurance to get that taken care of. I dont think hospitals even have rooms anymore that are not private for births but who knows.
The group of OB GYN's that I go to that delivers at St. Josephs North is close to the hospital on US 41 in Land O Lakes. Its called the Women's Group and Dr. Wahba is who delivered Mason and she is the best!!!! I saw all the doctors at the practice as you rotate around because you never know who will be on call the day you go into labor. I loved all of the doctors but my least favorite was Dr. Borodo. She and I did not have the same communication styles and so we had some issues when it came to down syndrome testing.
Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you. Good luck!!!
Re: Aegis2005
Thanks for the information; we're on United as well. We have open enrollment at work next week (not that I have a choice in what company - just levels of coverage) and a representative is supposed to be available to answer questions, so maybe I'll have a chat with them to make sure I thoroughly understand associated costs.
Thanks again!!
