Thanks everyone for your suggestions with regards to the Otterbox cases. I ordered the Commuter series so I'm excited for it to finally arrive!
However, I was wondering if anyone else had an issue with charging. I was just able to pick up my phone last night from UPS and plugged it in, where it said it was charging. This morning, my phone wasn't charged. I tried unplugging the power cord and replugging it in, the phone still didn't recognize the charge. I took the cord to the bathroom to try a GFCI socket and had no problem having it charge for 30+ minutes. I brought the phone into work and am having the same problem with it staying charging and then even recognizing the charge from the electrical outlet when I try to unplug and replug in.
I tried a quick Google search for fixes but doing a reset and trying to blow out any dirt/dust didn't seem to make a difference. Anyone else having problems? I don't know if this would be a battery issue (can't imagine so since it charged on the GFCI socket no problem) or a cord issue or something else.
Update- I tried the adapter I used for my Droid and it appears that it is an adapter problem as I found another Apple cord in my purse. Problem solved but something to possibly be aware of if others are having problems.
Re: iPhone 4S charging issues?
Ah thanks for the heads up. I was just googling this issue, and all I could find were a couple of people having issues with their car chargers when they updated to ios 5.
But I'm glad you were able to figure out the problem.
