"Purple Drank" busted by feds

Had anyone else seen their vehicles driving around advertising this "herbal 'syrup' " stuff?

I think their slogan was "Slow your roll" or something...DH and I saw a few of them and immediately thought...hmmm, that seems shady o_O ... turns out it was.

Re: "Purple Drank" busted by feds

  • I think the stuff you can get at a gas station is different than the stuff these people were busted for - the gas station stuff doesn't contain codeine.

  • You're right. Another article I read made it sound like the herbal stuff they sell at the gas stations was somehow just a front for the codeine trafficking and the codeine syrup drink they were making/selling behind the scenes.
  • am i the only one that laughed at this:

Arrested as the accused ringleader was Lucita Uy, a 70-year-old grandmother originally from the Philippines.
