celery root

what am i supposed to do with celery root??

i got my FCF box this week..and since i've been so slammed at work, i forgot to go edit my box for things i'm more familiar with. now i have this. and i don't know what to do with it!

DH suggested it would likely be good in soup like other root vegetables.

Or he said maybe steaming it.

yum, i will try this. does it taste like celery? cause i'm not a celery fan

I think it'll be good mashed, like a sub for mashed potatoes....and I don't think it taste like celery.  

Let me know how you like it, I wanna try it!

it did taste like celery   but it wasn't that bad. i didn't follow the recipe to a T though..i bought these insta-mashed potatoes a while ago from costco, so i mashed the celery root, and mixed it in with the insta-mash. i also put a couple garlic cloves in there to mix..i also put some fresh bacon and chives in it.

it wasn't bad, but it wasn't my fave thing ever, either. my friend was over for dinner today, and she *likes* celery (weirdo), and she said she really really liked it, so i think my reason for not liking it was just personal.

haha, cause i *love* mashed potatos...and that's what the picture looked like. no hint of celery. then i realized celery root might actually taste like celery. ew.
