That's awesome you are running the full Pig. I'm running my first half this weekend, and call me crazy, but I think I am going to train for the full Pig too. It's on my 26th birthday this year so I thought it would be cool to run 26 miles on my 26th birthday. It's my only chance right! Even though we are a little over 6 months out do you have any advice(on marathon running in general)? Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly!

  • Thanks!  I'm excited to run my third marathon and a little nervous to run a hilly one, but I figure I ran up and down the Ambassador Bridge - that's close to a big hill! 

    I started training for my first full about six months after my first half and ran it about a year after running my first half.  With training I'd make sure you have a good base and also be sure to recover completely from your half.  I'd also make sure you stretch or foam roll if you're not already and take ice baths after your long runs during marathon training.
