recommend a NON-HE washing machine.

I have a feeling mine is about to blow.  To the point I told my daughter no doing laundry while I'm not home.  Making REALLY scary noises!  lol

So I'm torn.  I would prefer a front loading machine, but most are high efficiancy.  I don't want HE.  I have used them in the past and just don't feel like they get enough water to get the clothes clean.  So I want to be able to control the amount of water that goes into a load.  I have searched a few places, but comng up VERY short in the Non-HE area.

I am more than willing to go top load, but once again, I do NOT want HE.  Any suggestions??

Re: recommend a NON-HE washing machine.

  • We had to get a new washer a few months ago and it seemed like they were all HE's. If I remember right, the Sears outlet had a few...not sure if you have an outlet near you, though.

I was pretty skeptical about the top loading HE we got but it has been great so far. When I wash my dog's bed and blankets, everything smells clean and there's hardly any fur on the blankets or the inside of the machine. I do still wonder though because the lid locks and you can't see what's going on inside the machine. That annoys me to no end.

  • I still talk to my SIL all the time and I know she is down in MPLS weekly and I know she would pick i tup for me.  I'm going to look into this more!  Thanks for the link!!
  • Hey Ro - I've got a basic washer/dryer pair I'm getting rid of for like, $100.  I'll FB you.
  • Speed Queen is THE way to go!!!  They're made in Wisconsin which is even better (yay "Made in the USA!")..  Actually, the machines are commercial grade which is nice, the basin is stainless and XL so you can wash larger loads with no issues, there is temperature and strength settings.  They're a little pricier, OTOH, remember made in the US and the quality of workmanship is great.
