iPad: Do you use Pages, Keynotes, and Numbers app?

Just wondering if they are really useful?

Re: iPad: Do you use Pages, Keynotes, and Numbers app?

  • I've used Pages to write documents before. It really helps to have a Bluetooth keyboard so that you have arrow keys to position the cursor, but it's possible to use the touch screen. Just a little more awkward.

It definitely doesn't replace the functionality of having a full computer running a word processing program, but I've managed to write two technical papers on the iPad when I was traveling and didn't have access to a laptop. It was nice to be able to export my paper to a Word Doc and mail it to a colleague from the iPad without needing to take a work laptop on vacation with me.

I would say that if you find you need to do some light work in a situation where you don't have a computer, it's a very nice supplement, but I definitely wouldn't use it as my regular word processor.
