Planning a SURPRISE PARTY...advice please!
My sister and bro-in-law are having their 20th wedding anniversary Feb. 1st. (don't worry they don't read forums, lol) I want to surprise them with a party. I have 2 dilemas.
- They are near impossible to surprise so I was thinking of having it a month early to throw them off. Good idea or not?
- I'm iffy on WHO should be on the guest list. I don't want to accidentally leave anyone out or include someone I shouldn't have. Should I let my brother in-law in on the plan so he can make the list? Or just guess and hope for the best?
OR should I skip the party and send them off for a surprise weekend getaway?
Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: Planning a SURPRISE PARTY...advice please!
I personally think you should skip the party. I would find it odd that anyone aside from the couple themselves or their children (if they had any) would throw an anniversary party for them. An anniversary is an intimate thing between a couple, imo. It is a really nice gesture and very thoughtful of you, I just think its up to them if they want to celebrate their anniversary with a bunch of people- and they should get to choose who those people are.
I think it would be okay if you offered to assist your sis (or possible kids) if they do want a party. Otherwise a surprise weekend getaway sounds really nice.
I really like your facebook suggestion, but they're not on. (I'm going to remember that for the future with someone else though) I know all of their friends and family it's just knowing where I can draw the line. Who is more important than others? That kind of thing. Plus we have family issues with divorce etc...that's where I'm unsure. They love parties and that's why I know they'd love one in addition to how they'll celebrate it alone. Such a tough call for me...
