I have no idea how I did every home game last year. So exhausting! We were there for 10 hours, with a 3.5 hour break for the game, so that's a 6.5 hour party with two meals. Then I had to stop by storage to drop off tents, tables and chairs, then come home and unload 3 coolers, do 4 loads of laundry for the tablecloths, run the dishwasher and put a million things away.
The second I finally finished the dishes, I changed into this:
Not realizing it was only 8:00 pm on a Saturday night! HA!
This broccoli-pasta salad was a huge hit. Everyone loved it and scarfed it down. It's good enough that I'm adding it to my sacred binder of Tested & Loved recipes.
And 6, yes, the reason I know you're reading the post, your cake was delicious. Everyone who tried it loved it. My friends who were there who'll also be at ILs' potluck this weekend asked me to please bring it again - so they liked it enough to eat it twice in one week! 6, please check the post below for another technical question about the cake batter. And once I clarify that question, I'll add your cake to the Tested & Loved binder, too.
Oh, ha, funny thing. Ya know how sausage patties shrink when you cook them at home to a fraction of their size? And ya know how Grands biscuits are, um, grand? The two ingredients looked so ridiculous beside each other that instead of making them into sandwiches, I just set them out beside each other with jelly and butter for the biscuits as like a "biscuit bar" lol.
Re: Whew, glad that's over
6.5 hours of party would have anyone in pjs! Gald it went well though. Good thinking on the biscuit bar. I want to make that pasta salad now. I bet you could also put in some chicken to make it a main course.
You've got me second guessing the applecake recipe. I'll double check the flour and get back to you below (my kid decided to snuggle in for a nap and I can't wake her).
You really are a die-hard entertainer! You deserve a very restful night. I hope you sleep soundly and wake gently...
