Hey folks, I am hoping someone here can help me. I have a potted evergreen (unsure of its exact species). I have had it for 15 months. I just went to water the plants next to it and it looked funny, so I touched it and all the needles started coming off. Almost as if it were dried out, but the soil is not dry - it's in a "self watering" pot.
Here's a picture of it in July (I had had it for one year at this point):

I know I probably shouldn't have removed all the dead needles, I just kept touching it thinking "this cannot be happening." I'm stupidly attached to this tree. It's from the summer camp H went to growing up, where we volunteer each summer, and where we got married. I'd like to save it if at all possible.
What do I do?
