Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>

Re: ipad ladies - come on downnn

  • If you don't get the 3g you can only go online where you can swipe a signal. I pay 15.00 per month for the lower data plan on AT&T.  I turn off the 3g connection if I am in my house or somewhere I can swipe a signal. Then it doesn't use my data plan.  IMO I would attach a data plan if you are going to use it out of your house. If you only intend to use it in the house then you don't need it. You can always buy the 3g version and not activate the data plan unless you need it.

  • I personally don't think 3G is necessary especially with so much prevalent wifi. I got B's 1st gen with it and he has never ever had need to use it and we've traveled a lot with it. He just got me a 2nd gen with no 3G cause of it. I have a GB complex ever since iPods come out I always go big or go home. We have 64's.... I have a lot of apps and he got me a USB attachment for memory cards and I plan on using mine to put a lot of pics on it as a easy way to show family pics from trips and stuff. And that will take up most room.

  • I don't think 3G is necessary at all. We use it ALL the time out. For Drew, we just downloaded a few seasons of his favorite shows so we can use it anywhere without wifi. We have the 1st generation and the 16 I believe. The smaller one. We do run out of space wih all he tv shows on it for Drew.
  • I was debating on getting an ipad as well because my laptop is dying after 4 years of abuse. But Ive been holding out since I have an iphone and its essentially just another iphone with a bigger screen, and the price.  I have a hard time justifying the $800 price tag when laptops go for like $400 now.

However if I was taking the train/commuting back to downtown manhattan it would definitely be on my xmas list regardless of price. Does that make sense?

  • I just got an iPhone 4s so I can't justify an iPad.  I am going to use my old itouch for movies and apps for Jack, it already has a bunch of disney ones on it from the kids I used to watch.  Also for the money of an iPad its not a kids toy, even if I had the money to throw around on one for a kids toy.

My Mac is almost 5 years old, we are buying a new one at xmas time.  Like CuteKate said for the price of one, I'd rather a full on computer to use.  We have a DVD player for the car already too, so again can't justify that either.

  • I love mine!  I don't think it can replace a laptop unless you have regular access to another computer.  It doesn't have word/excel and certain websites are harder to view because it doesn't have flash (I think that's the program it misses??).  I have the smaller memory and no 3G.  I don't really see any need for 3G since so many places have wi-fi plus if I'm somewhere without wi-fi, I can still just access the internet through my phone.  I didn't really see the need to pay more money every month for the limited times I'd need it.  As for the memory, I have plenty of empty space on it.  I don't really store pictures on it though and don't have any shows/movies so I can't say how much room that takes up.
