Morning everyone!
How was your weekend?
Re: Monday Greetings
Saturday we went to the apple orchard and the kids had fun. That night TH and I went out to dinner for our annv. Luckily I remember Gillmore Collection has a great Happy Hour that is daily and runs to six so we arrive about 15 minutes before our dinner reseravations and sat at the bar and managed to each get two drinks in before the special ended. (we didn't drink two drinks that quickly...we brought the 2nd drink to our table). So for $8 we got two beers and two wines...can't beat that.
On Sun, TH went to a friends house to watch the Lions so I hung out with the kids. We tried to hang low since Allison had a bad cough and wasn't feeling the greatest.
Good morning.
My weekend was okay. I was in a fall cooking mood and made chili, beer bread, pumpkin cookies, and sweet potato enchiladas. Besides that, it was just catching up on work and household chores.
Big weekend here. On Saturday we had Henry's party with my family. Everyone got here, we ate, and then we all went to the zoo. It was a perfect weather day. The kids were in the costumes, and zoo boo was fun. My family was impressed with the zoo. We stopped at Metaphorest so everyone could see a tiny bit of ArtPrize, and then back to our house for cake, ice cream and presents. Later, we went to my sister's hotel and the kids all went swimming. It was a long, but really fun, day.
In the morning, we went to breakfast with my parents, they left, and then it was time to get ready for family party #2.
Henry and 2 of his cousins shared a party yesterday at Jim's parents' house. It was big and crazy, and also fun.
Morning!
My best friend and i took a trip to Traverse City for girls weekend. We did a lot of antiquing, shopping, etc. Not a single adult beverage was consumed, we are so lame lol.
GRSP, I drove past the zoo on Saturday and thought of you. It looked packed there, and I thought, "Wow, Henry must be having a big party!".
Glad to hear you had a nice weekend.
Aww. I miss getting together with family. We don't do that. We did when I was little but when everyone grew up and started to have their own families and it got to be to much and too many people. Sucks being an only child even as a grown up.
I did some winterization at our house. New plastic on the windows and SS cleared up some of the basement to make way for the office moving back in. SS & I also helped a friend moving into their new home in Marne.
LOL, I agree! Glad you had a good time sans wine.
Sounds like a fun weekend for everyone!
Bri & I had a baby shower to go to on Saturday with my mom. It was also my mom's birthday so we spent time with her. Bri went to the IL's on Saturday night so we rented a movie & relaxed. Yesterday we picked out our pumpkins. Bri can't wait to "draw faces" on them tonight.
)
I bought a groupon for photo holiday cards. I need to get pictures of Bri taken so I can get them done before it expires (Nov. 15th). I'm debating on having them done or borrowing a camera (my FIL has a nice one) & attempting them myself. I feel bad asking someone with such short notice & I really don't have the extra money to spend on getting pictures done. Decisions, decisions. LOL!
Do them yourself...Bri is such a cutie it doesn't matter who takes them..
Don't stress yourself about spending that extra money on such a short notice.
Glad everyone seemed to have fun/productive weekends!
We went on an early morning bike ride and then tailgated at MSU on Saturday - perfect weather, perfect friends, perfect game. :-)
Sunday we relaxed a bit and played some broomball.
And it went too fast as always.
Would you like Henry and I too escort your through Hobby Lobby to Christmas land?
I'm grouchy today, too. Willa was late to school by 2 minutes, and the fault lies equally on all 4 of our shoulders. She's been doing really great with moving in the morning, but I think the weekend wore us all out.
Only if you would share my joy and enthusiasm about it, which, no offense, I don't think you'd do in October.
I hope everyone's day improves!
Oh, I was going to leave you there, and go to crafty land, and pick you up in X minutes.
I'll confess, I did go down some aisles last week, and felt excited.
Do you by chance remember in early July when I mentioned that a close family friend of B's family past away from cancer? Anyway, we just found out that her younger brother took his own life yesterday.
Their family and my husband's family are very close. He and my husband grew up next door to one another and were good friends when they were kids. He was 36, married, had a young son, and was a high school English teacher.
I can't even wrap my brain around this. So, so sad. And I feel awful for his extended family. First the death in July, and now this. And his wife... I can't even imagine.
I'm so sorry Kasa. :-( Heartbreaking for the family and friends.
Kasa,
That is so terribly sad....
Me too! Funnily enough, I think my funk lifting will also coincide with Christmas.
Poor L--I was a complete assholio this weekend. Yay stress!
