My weekend was good. FI came home late on Friday night, and it was so nice to have him home. As expected, the dog with crazy when he walked in the door. I cleaned the house for 4 hours before he got home, and when he walked in the door he actually said "wow, the house is really clean." I heart him! ![]()
Saturday, I rented a carpet cleaner from HD and cleaned the whole house. In total, with cleaner, it cost me about $30 (I only had the machine for 4 hours). It was soooooooo worth it. If it had known it was going to be that cheap and easy, I would have done it a long time ago. I am embarassed to say how gross that water was....though I blame it all on the dog.
Sunday I went grocery shopping and laid on the couch. All in all, it was a good productive, but lazy weekend.
Re: How was your weekend?
I was off this weekend so it was a nice welcome change from most of my weekends.
Friday: I had an interview for a transfer to Detroit and then I went apartment hunting with my dad. Then had dinner with my family at Rojos.
Saturday: Went with my dad on his meals on wheels delivery then flew back to Dallas. Spent Saturday evening with DH just hanging out catching up on Dexter.
Sunday: Lazy morning finishing homework. Then we had our Niece's 2nd birthday party with DH's family. Watched his pregnant cousin smoke.
I know it's not my place to judge but it certainly made me give her the side eye.
My dog wiggles with excitement whenever either one of us gets home. I get the feeling that he is more excited to see DH than me, but DH said that he is just as excited.
$30.00 to rent a carpet cleaner for 4 hours! That's great! I have to tell my DH about that!
My was ok. I had a sever migraine attack on Friday evening, so we had to cancel our plans with our friends.
Saturday - Loki graduated from Dog training!! He did really well, especially at the "come when called part" he by-passed all sorts of treats and people and dogs and ran right up to us. It was great to experience that.
Sunday - I took my sister out and we went to see Carmina Burana & The Medium at the Detroit Opera House and then had dinner at Roast (HIGHLY recommend it for all you meat lovers out there - the Filet Mignon was outstanding!). We also got to see the Detroit Lions Drum Line perform for a little bit outside of the parking garage. After dinner, I went home and chilled and treated myself to a nice bubble bath.
Mine was pretty good!
Friday night I got home from work kind of late. I had to do a bunch of stuff post-work that I am pretty amazed I got done and was still standing. DH surprised me with these for our anniversary (well, they are in the mail on the way, not actually here yet)
I hope they fit/look right!
Saturday, I made a yummy breakfast and we went to the Toledo Zoo. It was OK - there was a kid Trick-or-Treat thing so it was PACKED. We had a good time and a lot of the animals were very active. The aquarium was the best. I love fish.
We ordered Chinese food for dinner and watched Christine. I'd never seen it, and it sounded really dumb, but DH wanted to show it to me. I actually liked it/was kind of creeped out!
Yesterday, I made another yummy breakfast (go me!) and we went for long walk then did some errands. I got 5 new fishies for my tank! I want more, but I'm waiting until it gets more established (the nitrogen cycle needs to get going yada yada yada). Then, instead of going out (we're both homebodies) we stayed in and I made ribs for the first time, and they were GREAT!
Then, we ate our leftover donut cake from our wedding and crashed.
The end!
We did one room in our place a couple weeks ago, and we need to do the rest. I had been dreading it so much, but it turned out to be super cheap and pretty easy! I was really impressed. Got to get the rest of the place done before the IL visit in a couple of weeks! Gotta impress that MIL!
Oh, I have something good to balance out the whinning in my previous post.
DH reserved an iPhone 4S for himself at Apple this weekend. I told him I was fine wtih my 3G and didn't need a new one. Well, of course neither of us needed a new one. Well, after standing in line for his phone he asked the guy if there were any left not on reserve and got one for me too. I love it!
Friday evening, DH and I did a bit of shopping, and then we just relaxed.
Saturday we spent the entire morning cleaning the house. It does feel good to have every bit of laundry done, all of the floors vaccumed, bathrooms cleaned, and dishes washed and put away. We then went to a neighborhood halloween party, which turned out to be a lot of fun. DH went and played Hockey, while I stayed at home and finished up the laundry and went to bed!
Yesterday, I spent the majority of my day helping a neighbor (who has MS) move some plants, plant some new plants, spread mulch etc, while DH helped her husband work on a deck that they are building. It was just nice to spend the day outside!

Saturday I was gone the entire day. I judged the Miss Washtenaw's Outstanding Teen pageant and then stayed to watch the Miss Washtenaw pageant. Literally gone for 13 hours. Exhausting, but fun.
Sunday we went to church, out to lunch, and then I had rehearsal for Junior Miss. Thankfully most of the girls are on top of things and turn in their paperwork on time. I HATE having to chase people to turn things in. Makes me feel like I'm at work.

Is it sad that I can barely remember back to Friday to even talk about what I did?
Friday evening was low-key and even though we intended to do some errands we ended up just staying in. We planned on watching a movie but DH passed out early.
Saturday evening we took the kids to my parents' house and went to dinner. We ran to Kohl's afterward and got a new winter coat for DH and then went to the grocery store. We had fun joking around about how much our "date nights" have changed over the years. It's amazing how such basic stuff can constitute such an enjoyable evening when you don't get out much.
Sunday was pretty laid back as well. I had intended to go to church, but once again I was reminded of how much longer it takes to get ready now that we have two kids... and I failed.
Ended up watching some football, the movie that was supposed to be watched Friday, and did some laundry.
Pretty good.
Saturday I had First Place (healthy living bible study), then ran a few errands & then DD & I went for a walk while DS napped. Then my friend came over & we went to a jewelry party together. She stayed the night w/us since she's in Clinton Twp. & I'm in Northville.
Sunday instead of a regular service at church we had the North Park Univ. Gospel Choir perform & they were awesome! When the kids went down for a nap I went for a walk. We grilled for dinner & impromtu dinner w/a neighbor of ours.
