You are better than I am...we put the money from stuff we sell into our vacaction fund.
We usually have enough for spending money for our trips from garage sale money, CL sales, and random cash we come across.
I wouldn't feel bad about selling it. If you personally came across someone that really needed baby supplies, than maybe you could donate one or two things. Or if you are feeling guilty buy a few packs of diapers the next time they do the county-wide diaper drive they do once a year.
What?! That's rediculous that someone feels they should tell you what to do with your stuff! There are so many inappropriate things about that person making that statement, I'm angry for you.
I think you have a great idea.
When my sister got rid of her stuff, I let it be known that I was willing to pay for her stuff. She felt guilty for selling me stuff - she sold me her nice swing for $40 and felt terrible guilty. I thought it was an awesome deal so I told her not to worry. There was no way I would expect her not to get some money off of that stuff.
I know there are a lot of people who don't agree with selling stuff to family, but I excited to buy from her. I knew it came from a clean home.
Any chance are you selling a crib?
I agree, I usually offer to pay unless someone made it blatantly obvious they didn't want money for it.
Yes!! But, I really want it to go as a package deal of the crib and the matching changing table. Let me know if you know anyone that is interested.
My stuff isn't organized AT ALL so if you want to have your friend email me and let me know what she is looking for, I can see what I have. I just don't have a list compiled of all of the stuff we have nor do I have it segregated and out where I can see it. I think this will be my project during the winter and have a sale in the spring.
Will you be selling any boy clothes, by any chance? Please keep in touch about when you do your sale!
