xp: night terrors??

searched but the feature isn't working...

My 15 mo. old keeps waking up  freaking out, but is not really awake.  Its an unconsolable cry, and he won't accept a bink or bottle to help calm.  I have to wake him up completely by coming downstairs and letting him play a little (books, magnets, stuff on my lap) .

It only worries me because he has woken up literally every night for a week.  This had happen one time in the past, so I am calm and not scared when it happens, I just want to know a) if this is night terros, and b) what can I do to help him avoid them.  TIA!

Re: xp: night terrors??

  • Ugh, we have been dealing with this off and on for about a year. It is horrible and I agree that is has to be night terrors. With all that Bennett has been through it is not the same as the pain cries. We do the exact same thing to try to break him of the freaking out. I don't really know what else to do. I have been seeing a naturalpathic doctor myself for the last few months and she suggested Hylands (same brand as the teething tablets) Calms Forte for Kids about 2 weeks ago. We have been using it every night since and it has definitely helped his night wakings and crying. I don't know if you are familiar with homeopathic treatments but they are 100% safe, not drugs at all. They work with your bodies natural energy and either work for you or are placebo. There is quite a bit of info out there on the Hylands Calms Forte for adults and kids on google, check it out.
