Bringing Dead Grass Back to Life

The hubs and I are in the middle of buying our first home and the sellers really let the backyard go (shortsale).

Does anyone have any tips on getting super brown grass to come back to life?

Any and all tips are much appreciated. :)

Re: Bringing Dead Grass Back to Life

  • Water it.  A lot!  Give it a good soaking with a sprinkler once or twice a week.

Other plants will make headway in its patch of ground.  Pull out any weeds and crabgrass that crop up, and step on the loose dirt after you pull them out.

However, it may not be salvageable without reseeding or even re-sodding.
