Update - Adam is here :-)

Hey all, I'm back.  Thanks to Erin for updating everyone.  I had a baby BOY (Emma was right) on Friday afternoon.  Adam David was born at 12:52pm, 7 lb. 5 oz., 21 inches, and beautiful (although I may be biased).

I had to be induced and everything came about quickly.  I went to the doctor for my weekly visit on Thursday afternoon and my blood pressure was high.  Instead of going back to work for the afternoon, I had to go to L&D for monitoring and things didn't get much better.  By 9pm, they had started the induction.  They put my on magnesium sulfate, which was absolutely horrible.  It is a muscle relaxer which meant I had a catheter in and I was bed-ridden the entire labor, as well as 24 hours post-delivery.  But besides that, everything went relatively smoothly.  I had my epidural at about 6am, they started pitocin to kick start contractions at 10am, and I was ready to push around 12pm.  I only pushed for 40 minutes, although it seemed like an eternity.

DH was SHOCKED it was a boy.  Like seriously shocked.  He had convinced himself it was a girl, but I think that's because he really wanted a boy and he didn't want to be disappointed.  I didn't have a strong feeling either way, but I wasn't sold on either of the girl names we had chosen so it worked out well.

We ended up having to stay in the hospital for 2 days post-delivery so they could continue to monitor my blood pressure.  It is still high so I am on a medication and following up with the doctor this week.

We are absolutely in love with Adam.  DH is off work all week and we are just getting settled in at home.  Adam doesn't love his crib...or not being held...so we are kind working in shifts throughout the night.  Here are some pictures of our beautiful son:
