cell phones

So I've abused (dropped multiple times) my evo to the point where it now shuts off at random, took it upon itself to delete one of the version of angry birds I had downloaded, won't allow me to download anymore apps cuts off half of the picture when I zoom, etc.  But I still love it!  This phone has been awesome.  But I do recognize that I probably should replace it.  I would love to have the same thing (actually from what I understand, if I were to get a new evo, it should be the evo 3D).  However, and I did not previously know this, Sprint now carries iPhones.  People who have had both iPhones and smartphones operating on the Android OS care to weigh in?  As well as exclusive owners of the iPhone, care to share what makes it so great and why I should consider it over another Evo?

Re: cell phones

  • I had an iphone first with at&t and now I have an Evo 3D with Sprint and to be honest, I miss my iphone. They had so many cool apps that I cannot find for this phone. However, the Evo 3D is pretty cool and fast. I just liked the functions of the iphone better.

  • We have iPhones, and R had an Android phone for work. He keeps going back to his iPhone though because the app store is so much better than the Market on Android. Anyone can put an app up there, and you'll have problems with crappy apps and apps with viruses... But Apple approves everything that goes into the app store, so you will have better quality apps on iPhone.

And you really can't beat the beautiful screen on the iPhone... Even though it's smaller than most droid phones, it's so pretty. And it's tough to get your thumb way across a bigger screen anyways.

You can customize much more on an android phone than on the iPhone, but that's all just looks.

iPhone has iCloud now, where you can sync all your apple devices, and back up your info to the cloud.

     Go iPhone :)

  • I know 3 people that all got the iphone through sprint when they got them a week or so ago. They all love them. I'm so scared of a touch phone! I'm such a dork I know. LOL ... I'm on my 3rd BB. I am going to take the plunge when my contract is up and get the iphone. I know that didn't answer your question :)
  • I have an iPhone 4 through verizon, and I love it.  You would be able to get the 4S, which would be amazing because it has Siri.  Siri is a program with amazing voice recognition.  You can tell it to text someone, set a reminder, find restaurants, etc.  Look up videos of Siri on youtube to see what I am talking about.  There is an app for anything you can think of, which is really nice.  Also, I have dropped my iphone (I do have a plastic bumper cover thing around the edges), and I have had no problems.  I don't have experience with the android phones though, so I can't help there.  I do think you will love an iPhone though!  Good luck!

  • I just got the Tunderbolt in May and wish I would have got the Iphone instead. Jill and I were just talking today about Apple and how their apps are better. My next phone will be an iphone.
  • I have an android but DH has an iphone.  I like his better and think my next one is going to be the iphone.
  • We both have Droids but both plan to upgrade to iPhones once the 5 comes out.  I just got an iPad last weekend, so just having that makes me more excited to get an iPhone eventually. :)  I am a constant phone dropper as well but when I got my Droid a year ago, I got this spiffy (yep, spiffy) silicone-ish case, it's hot pink, hard rubber with bumps all over it, the case itself isn't even showing signs of wear.  LOVE it.
