This is unacceptable.

I can't even express my outrage at the lack of A) real imagination in movies these days, and B) respect for these old classics that should never EVER be touched.

Re: No. No. No. No. No.

  • They are going to ruin Never Ending Story :-( and make a whole new generation scared of clowns with a new IT.... why can't they leave well enough alone?

  • Ugh, I completely agree. Neverending Story should not be touched! Also, I loved Drop Dead Fred and Russell Brand kind of seems like a good fit but I don't see the need for a remake.

  • I'm STILL pisssed about Drop Dead Fred. Don't screw with what already works, people!

  • I'll admit, I've not seen most of the originals on the list but the ones I do know will be RUINED by a remake. I mean, how can you touch War Games and Honey I Shrunk the Kids?

  • This is getting ridiculous. How hard is it to come up with an original script?

Part of me thinks this is a side effect of the writers' strike years ago. That launched reality tv and the remake trend in movies. Production companies must not have gotten the memo that 1) he strike has been over for a while and writers need work and 2) we are in a recession. Nobody is going to pay to see a crappy remake in a theatre when they have the original at home.

  • Is it bad that Honey I Shrunk the Kids is the only movie I've seen on that list?
  • IT scared the crap out of me!  Not sure I'll be watching that remake.

  • Dude. Three men and a baby? You can't remake the magic of Ted Danson, Tom Selleck and Steve Guttonberg...YOU. JUST. CAN'T!!!!

  • That sucks so bad.  I am boycotting them.  They ruined Nightmare on Elm Street and Clash of the Titans.  Now I guess they have to ruin a bunch more.  It's annoying.

I know, right? That movie is pure awesome the way it is.

This is my general feeling, though I haven't seen most of those originals. I'm not much of a movie person though. I just wish there were more original scripts coming out - not remakes, not books, not plays. ORIGINAL MOVIES!

  • I've only seen one of those movies and heard of only one other. The one I've seen (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) shouldn't be remade! It will be ruined in the remaking! Boycotting the remake!!
