Yep!  Everything pretty much got put on hold a few weeks ago before our trip.  Right now I don't even have the mental space to devote to it, there is too much going on.    In a couple weeks I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things!  Do you perhaps have any ideas?

I have NO IDEA how I didn't see this post earlier. lol.  I have to say I'm truly enjoying the post title.  Very nice.  Maybe I could change my "handle" to Ritzaliscious. It does have a nice ring to it, no?

I don't blame you for not being able to focus on that project right now.  I actually am lame and have no ideas for you, I just wondered if you had made progress.  I was watching an HGTV show and they were making their own laminate countertop and I thought of you. I will continue to keep my eyes and ears open for you though!

What are the measurements of the base cabinets?

Haha, I was kinda wondering.  I had started to think that I might actually have to page you again with your actual screenname, just to tell you that this post was for you.  )  I think Ritzy is a good base name, because then we can invent all sorts of fun nicknames for you, like Ritzaliscious, Ritztastic, and Rubitz Cube.  Ok, maybe that last one was a bit of a stretch.  )  If you go all-out with Ritsaliscious, you've kind of boxed yourself in, KWIM?  lol.

Soooooo, the cabinets measure 4' x 4', and I want the counter to be 4' x 6'.  I am thinking that I will probably just buckle and get a laminate counter the next time I stumble across a Lowe's coupon for 10% off or whatever.  C'est la vie.

How's Lily doing?  I think we need some more photos!  )

Definitely a good point.  Maybe I wouldn't quite want to be painted with that brush afterall. You're so wise.

My Mom seems to get 10% off coupons for Home Depot all the time.  Don't know if you specifically want Lowes' coupons, but I'll ask her to save hers the next time she gets one if you want.  I think you can also sign up for their "new homeowners" email club or something and they'll send you a 10% off email coupon as well.  I seem to remember doing this once when I needed a coupon.  Lowes might have a similar "new home" email club that gives a coupon, but I don't know for sure.  Have you looked into how expensive a countertop of that size would be? I don't even know what to guess on that.
