Weekend Getaway

So the BF and I have decided that instead of buying each other gifts for Christmas we are going to go away for a weekend.  Any suggestions...I live in upstate NY...the ideas of NYC and Boston have both been put on the table...We are looking to go in January probably and we are trying to be budget friendly so it needs to be affordable...any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Weekend Getaway

  • I've never been to NYC so I can't comment on that. Boston is a lot of fun. Have you thought about Niagara Falls?

I just went to Boston with The Artist and it was awesome. We got deals on the flights which is why we ended up picking it ($107 roundtrip).

You could put a few cities on a TripAdvisor watchlist and wait for a deal, then choose whatever's cheapest? That's what we did.

BTW I think this is a great idea in lieu of gifts!

  • What about Maine? Obviously it's going to be snowy and butt cold, but Portland is a great city... get a little b&b, visit the the brew pubs... have some yummy sex :) Sigh... I think I'm planning my own wish getaway! :)
  • I second Niagra Falls.  It will be cold but there's tons of stuff to do.  There's also Niagra on the Lake nearby, which has wineries and bed and breakfasts to stay at.

  • I second Boston, Niagara on the Lake, or Maine. Personally, I am not a fan of Niagara Falls but that is just me.

Other ideas: Lake Placid, Vermont or somewhere in Canda (Toronto, Montreal, etc).

Bluebird, you might be the horniest person on the planet right now.  The senior citizen you are dating is a very lucky man.  Hahahahaha
