Re: What Up Wednesday
How has this not come up yet?

Interesting. I'm wondering if it will be more "Daily Show" format than "NBC Evening News"?
We set up a season pass to record the show the minute after we saw the first promo.
I have no idea what this means. I'm excited too, though. Brian Williams is a gazillion times better than a Playboy Bunny show.
Sorry, on TiVo (because we do not have any fancy DVR) you can set up a "season pass" to TV shows and it will automatically record every new episode without you having to remember every week.
It seems like kind of an odd location choice to me, but I'm happy about this, because: a) New development in that stretch of 28th St., and b) TIMBITS!!!
I hope it does well. I'm really glad that that area of 28th st is getting better.
That just made my hear swoon
That just made my heart swoon
I alway thought TiVo was fancier than DVRs. Probably because their was an episode about TiVo on Sex and the City once. And I think everything discussed on Sex and the City is cool, urban, and fancy.
Kasa,
that is so sad about your friend, especially thinking about his students. My aunt passed away about 8 years ago and was a 2nd grade teacher to inner city kids. To many kids she was their only source of education, warm jackets, hugs, and love. That was the hardest thing about her funeral and visitation was the kids coming in. The school had a huge vase of carnations delivered with notes from the students. I told my cousin if you wanted to sum up my aunt all you had to do was direct people to the vase.
Several months later they planted a tree in her memory so the family went to a cermony and I went to the restroom afterwards and there was one little girls with her mom and she was just sobbing. I wanted to pick her up and just hug her.
I think that's because TiVo is older than the mainstream DVRs and so that's what was "in" during the show. Yet another example of the speed of technology...
Oh how badly I want a collection of Manolos!
Glad you had a good time!
I sure know that feeling.
Welcome home!
In case you are curious about the resort, the rooms were great (nicely updated), the pool and hot tub area were nice.
The location was close to lots of stuff, but still kind of seemed run down. I never felt unsafe (and we walked a lot and at night) but it still looked sketchy. It was less than a five minute drive to Universal's entrance.
No fitness room and no where to run. Small complex - only 2 buildings.
We won't ever stay there again, but it wasn't awful.
Glad you're back! So... hot tub, eh?
How private was it? See hot tub post from a few days ago.
Willa and I just got our flu shots. She cried. I didn't.
Both girls actually took a 2 hour nap today, which they needed! TH came home from lunch today and both girls had an epic meltdown. He was ready to take off before he even ate lunch but I followed him to the car and gave a epic WTH look, so he came back in. We got both girls calmed down and feed. Then Mia cuddled on the couch with him for about 10 minutes.
The girls (along with me) have been fighting a cold for a several days now, so I gave them some Hylands cold medicine that Brian picked up. It was the night time one with chamollia (sp?) in it. - which may have led to the great naps.
You are a brave girl! Haha.
I get my flu shot through Mike's work. They did it in a large room and you could see everything going on. Mike tried to keep Henry away but he came right up to me and watched it all go down. I had a huge dopey smile on my face and was telling Henry how "Shots are good! They make you healthy!" in a super chipper voice. Dang that hurt, but I wanted to set a positive tone for Henry. As if he will even remember.
Welcome back! Even if the vacation isn't perfect, it is still nice to get away!
There was a super private hot tub (jacuzzi in our room) and a public hot tub. I'm off to see the hot tub post...
Awww, sorry she cried. T get's his flu shot on Tuesday. Gulp.
The room was the least of my worries. I won't ever travel with that family ever again.
Haha! I was not doing any soaking and poking in the hot tub at the resort I just stayed at - public or private! Gross.
The nurse who gave me my shot did an amazing job. I didn't even feel the needle going in. I was convincing Willa it wasn't a big deal, and - for me - it wasn't. But they had to do Willa's in her leg, which made things different. Their sticker selection was mighty terrible today, so I took her to the dollar store to help her forget "how terrible" it was. She picked out a statue that looks like Mary. THE Mary. This over headbands, coloring books, and assorted other cheap randomness.
Oh my goodness she is so sweet. The experience must have really affected her! Stickers? Pssht - that was a statue worthy shot.
