Tell me more about your water balloon christmas project.

I am very excited to procrastinate about these tissue paper trees.

Re: maryandkirk

  • I am making these snowball ornaments- only with yarn (the comments said water balloons make a better sized ornament, so I got a package of them and plan to start tonight):

They're for the Crafty Nesties ornament exchange- my secret nestie is a knitter (and I am most certainly not), so I thought it would be fun to give her a yarn related craft that I am capable of creating to represent her craft, plus a couple of quilty ornaments to represent my craft (I've done a folded star type of quilted ornament { like this, but with a star shape instead of just zigzags- instead of being perfectly aligned they're staggered- http://blueprimrosediy.blogspot.com/2009/07/fabric-christmas-ornament-diy.html} and intend to make a handful of fun quilty trees like these {http://pinterest.com/pin/308563745/}).

I like those trees a lot!   I don't know that I have the patience to do those though- are you going to do the 3 textures like she did or just stick with one?

Are you doing any other holiday crafts?  I have a TON that are pinned for gifting- I've actually made 2 so far- a lunchbox and a wristlet.  They were cute and fun!

  • Those Martha ones are really cute - and I think using yarn is a great idea!!  I also really like the quilted ones.  I really need to figure out wtf I did to my sewing machine.  I was using last year around Christmas and I think it got jammed somehow :(

I am not 100% in love with the rose-like tree, but I love the red fluffy one and the green one (also becasue those seem to be the easiest!)  I want to do 3 trees though, so i'm on the lookout for a 3rd design for one of the trees.  If I can't find a different texture i'll just do the fluffy one, maybe in all silver or maybe all white?  Haven't thought that far ahead yet!
