Making a slipcover?

Has anyone ever made a slipcover for a chair before? I have a chaise lounge that I inherited from my parents and it's in great shape, except the fabric is very dark green and clashes with everything we have. Rather than tearing the old fabric off and reupholstering, I want to take a stab at making a slipcover. Any ideas or tips on how to do this?

Re: Making a slipcover?

  • Grab a book on how to at the library and watch some you tube videos. I've made 5 or 6 now? I don't think its that hard.  I would pick a stretch twill type material for you first one. Its more forgiving. You need to be comfortable kinda flying by the set of your pants for the fitted versions.
