Just need to sorta vent-Sorry about that-
If there are any of my fellow October 2011 brides on here, they may already know the story, but for those that don't, on the way to the church the morning of the wedding, some woman t-boned us and long story short, the insurance company totalled the car. The damage was pretty signifigant. We were given a rental car for a week (yes, just one week and we had to fight for that even, at first it was only for 4 days) but it had to go back today.
Fi's supervisor came to get him to take him to work and I talked to one of my supervisors yesterday and asked what can be done ( currently, I work in retail until my reciprocity for my nursing liscence comes through) because I may not be able to come in-can he take me off Wedneday and put me on Thursday? Nope. He said that I would have to call in and if I do, he would terminate me. (I had a stomach bug last week two days, so it would be my 3rd call in)
I asked my sister in law if she could take me, and she hasen't yet even replied, sooooo if I have to call in, oh well, I am up a certain creek without a paddle!
DH doesn't see it as a big problem, He diden't like the idea of me working there in the first place, but the money was a little helpful.
Hope y'll have a great day
Thanks for listening.
Re: Soooo...probally will get terminated today..
That's terrible - I'm so sorry you had that happen, and on your wedding day, no less. Are you physically okay?
How far away is your job from home? Could you take a bus, or is there a neighbor that drop you off?
Oh man, that's horrible. I am so sorry you're having to go through this. Not only is getting in an accident on your wedding day bad enough, but then you're having to deal with sucky insurance people and a crappy boss
Could you possibly take a cab to work?
How long will it be until you can get a nursing job? If there's only a small window of time between losing your current job and getting a new one, I wouldn't worry about it and just say 'screw it' but if you think it'll be a while before you get another job, I'd do anything I could to get there.
I wish you the best of luck!
Oh wow. What a crappy situation. I'm sorry you had to go through that on your wedding day and now your dealing with the job situation.
Hopefully you can get the nursing job soonish though.
Sadly there is no public transport where we live and a cab is outta the question-they are way expensive here. So enjoying my few days off, no stress, able to get the house clean-ish and take care of a sick hubby. Will be flodding the reciprocity office with forms yet again this week-this will be the third time we've sent them the forms.
