Seasonal landscaper rates?

Do landscapers give different rates depending upon the season?  For example, are they generally more expensive during the spring/summer, and less so later in the fall/winter?  I received some quotes this past spring to add some curb appeal to my front yard but due to other stuff, didn't go through with it.  Later this summer, I wanted to prune some larger trees in our back yard and the guy said if I could wait until December or January, he could do it cheaper.  Has anyone else come across this?

Re: Seasonal landscaper rates?

  • 1. It's the slow season. Especially if your guy offers lawn service. A lot of landscapers do snow removal in the winter to make money.

    2. Tree workers like working when trees have no leaves, because you can see what you're doing, and there is less bulk to the waste. However, this is not always the best time to prune trees. Make sure you hire a Certified Arborist if you want to keep the tree healthy.
