vinegar as fabric softener

How much do you use? We just got a new front loading washer, and I have no idea how much vinegar I should put into the fabric softener dispenser.

Re: vinegar as fabric softener

  • Hmm... I have an old Downy ball that I use and just fill to its fill line.  I would guess maybe ~1/2 cup.

  • I also use a downey ball... I agree that it's about 1/2 cup, although, it's only vinegar, so you could probably just dump some in there, and be fine Smile

I'm glad that you posted this because I did not even realize there was a max line in the holder! I guess I didn't look closely enough the first time. So many new things I'm learning about my new washer! :)

  • I use 1/4 cup - which happens to be how much the dispenser holds
