Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. Another question on the "salary requirement"

So I hate the salary requirement question, as everyone does, because I don't want to lowball it or say too much and then they don't consider me.
I asked a friend who has the same position in the same company what she started at.... should I say this amount, or slightly higher?

Ask her what the range is for her pay band. You want to be somewhere in the middle.

I hate that question as well. Last time I provided a range but couched it with "it also depends on the total comp package- i.e. benefits, paid time off, 401K match etc etc."
Not sure what field you're in but check on the internet for salary studies/ranges for your profession. Often you can even find them by geographic area. Good luck!
