allison update

this is what she posted on FB a few minutes ago

"Just a quick update- Baby Richards was born via emergency c-section at 4:08pm today. It's been a rough day but we are both ok now. We still haven't picked a name because we didn't even get to hold her until around 8:45 tonight. I'll post more info tomorrow"

so lots of T&P for mama and baby, so glad she's here!

Re: allison update

  • I'm glad that baby and mom are doing well!! Congratulations, Allison!!
  • I hope that she didn't have to push too long before the c-section! I can't wait to see pictures! I didn't push at all, and I was absolutely wiped after my c-section. And then there is the feeding upon that, and you become delirious! I hope she is able to get some sleep...

  • Thanks girls! Yesterday was a little rough. They started the induction on Tues night. I asked for the epi around 8am and boy did that hurt. Less than two hours later it wasn't really working anymore so they had to take it out and start againm. Lucky me. The 2nd one lasted about 3 hours before I started feeling a lot of pain right down in the middle of my vag. They came and added a big syringe full to the epi and that is where everything we downhill. Suddenly I was numb from my shoulders down. I had absolutely no use of my legs. It was a very scary feeling. Then, the baby's heart rate dropped and they couldn't get it back up. My dr said we needed to do a c section and serioulsy a minute later there TONS of people in my room. They wheeled me off to an operating room and she was out in 5 minutes. She had swallowed meconium though and spent several hours in the special care nursery. I am very groggy bc I have an insane amount of drugs in me. Still no name but we are working on it. I can't keep my eyes open long enough to really discuss it!

  • So happy to hear from you Allison! Wow, that is so scary, but I am so glad that all is well now (or as well as it can be given the circumstances). Get some rest!
