Anyone started one yet? Doesn't look like.
What's everyone up to today? Any big Halloween plans on the weekend?
QOTD: If someone were coming to visit your country, what is the one local food you would insist they try?

Re: Good morning?
I've got nothing going on today. I really need to unpack from Paris and clean up my room, but we'll see if I can find the motivation.
On Saturday my flatmates are having a Halloween party in our flat. They're going all out so it's going to be a great time. I will be reusing my "zebra" costume from last year.
QOTD: Haggis. I know a lot of people are grossed out by the thought, but it's really nice. It's a great filling comfort food. I would also insist on shortbread because, well, who wouldn't?
Today's my at home day so I've got a mountain of ironing to do, planning our Christmas vacation and where we're going this weekend.
QOTD: oops...reading fail. Country I currently live in - Indian maybe b/c what's more English than a good curry?
Good afternoon/almost evening!
I have zero Halloween plans as I'm not a big Halloween person.
QOTD: As we haven't had guests here yet, I can't say. I assume it will be a variety of local foods at hawker stalls though.
Only Pimms.
I can't wait for the weekend. But, at the moment I'm annoyed. My kid keeps coughing and I'm trying to see a doctor. My pediatrician is out of town and the other pediatrician nearby is not answering their phone.
I'm thinking of going to a pumpkin patch on Saturday.
QOTD: I would insist they try schnitzel because I love it. And probably the beer.
We LOVE haggis and ate it a lot while we were in Scotland. I even made a recipe of chicken stuffed with haggis, wrapped in bacon. It was fan-tas-tic! :-)

Morning!
Woke up in the middle of the night with a fever and pain in my chest. Seems I'm coming down with something. Just resting today.
No Halloween plans this year, I'll dress M up for the day as a pirate.
QOTD: Local seafood, lavender honey, entrecote on the bbq.
Chicken Balmoral I think? I love that. With mashed potatoes and an onion gravy. Oh yum.
Morning! No Halloween plans here, but DH's birthday is next week (the 3rd). If babyMadrid isn't here yet by then we'll probably have a nice dinner out just the two of us. Maybe even this weekend we'll do something instead, who knows.
I'm getting slightly impatient to meet babyMadrid, but she seems content on the inside. Now I'm coming down with a cold though so I'm hoping she stays in until I've gotten past it! Being in labor with a cold sounds miserable.
QOTD: I always insist people try patatas bravas and croquetas because they are my favorite things here!
Morning! We're having an impromptu Halloween party with people from work tomorrow, I need to get my bum in gear to find something to wear now!
QOTD: in H's country, haggis. In mine, moules/frites and despite what Totziens said in the previous post, filet am?ricain or carpaccio. Oh, and of course chocloate and beer!
Had this yesterday for lunch, it was so good.
Morning!! :-) It's Thursday, hooray! Just trying to get through the day, finish up work and head home! My DH is participating in a trivia game with some of his students tonight, so we'll go to that, then just chill at home.
We were hoping to watch a scary movie with friends, but not sure if that will work out for this weekend or not. We have a party on Friday, but not a halloween one. Just a drinking one, lol.
QOTD: I'm going to have to say falafel, just because it's my favorite, and it's SO good here. Also, schwarma with garlic sauce and fattoush. Amazing!

Morning! There is a friend from the States that arrived yesterday and her daughter (same age as Georgia). They are still asleep.... almost 11am (I should probably wake them up!) so I'm not sure what we'll do today. The good thing is that she's spent some time in London before, so she doesn't feel like she needs to do a lot of sightseeing. The weather here isn't great, so we probably will stay in most of the day.
We're going to Paris with them this weekend, it'll be a crazy 2 days (with two 1-year-olds!).
QOTD: When people come, we take them to the pub. They'll either do an English breakfast or a curry or sometimes fish & chips.
The ice cream machine at Ikea! haha, I swear, it rocks. Got it at the Ikea in the US when I was there this summer, it was yuk! Must be the Ikea in Haarlem NL! hehehee
Morning! Today is my Friday because tomorrow I'm leaving for AZ to go to a friends wedding!
QOTD: In the US, anything, in Israel it was hummus, shwarma and falafel
Good morning...or afternoon now as I'm having some major jet lag which usually doesn't happen to me. I'm working from home today and hopefully unpacking some. No plans for Halloween, but I did eat my fair share of Halloween candy when I was just back in NJ.
QOTD: Sunday roast or Indian.
Good afternoon now I guess. It's been a busy morning. We're going through a round of cuts at work, which sucks, and I'm taking over somebody else's role. So I have a week to get up to speed on what she was doing. In addition to my previous work. At least she wanted to leave, so she's not bitter about it.
No Halloween plans. Although I'm going out to a hen party tomorrow night so I hope we see some costumes. I hate dressing up, but I love seeing what other people do.
QOTD: I usually try to make sure they have a good fish and chips. And banoffee pie ... I LOVE banoffee pie so maybe that one is more for me
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
No big Halloween plans here as I have to work all weekend. It is not really a thing here anyways. You don't really see children dressed up or trick or treating.
QOTD: If I do get visitors, I try to take them to try Hot Pot and out for a pastel de Nata (Portuguese Egg Tart). People tend to be a little wary of food when they visit.
Morning sunshines. Today I am a cleaning machine. My parents are coming in town tomorrow and I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. Pup and I may go to the park later today if I get all my chores done!
No Halloween plans for this gal. I'm waiting until the last minute to get a couple bags of candy for our trick or treaters because I know iI'll eat it all before the first kiddo rings my doorbell.
QOTD: Israel: Hummus, good lamb kabob and schwarma. Georgia: Sweet tea, fried green tomatoes and shrimp n grits.
My Israel Blog!
We attempted to go to the parade, but they didn't let people get very close. But from what we saw it was a shiitshow. The military marchers could barely do anything in time and all the boys in their all white suits (seriously, from shoe to tie, all white) and other kids in their sequin tracksuits.... it was a hot mess.
QOTD: In Dubai, a fattoush salad from Cafe Blanc (which is a Lebanese chain, but Arabic is Arabic) or more generally just a brunch on Friday. Here... not sure. Pilaf rice or else vareniki, which I think is more Russian than Turkmen.
Went shopping in the city centre with DS braving the corwds on a rainy day during half-term. Maybe will decorate our autumn sugar cookies we baked yesterday when DS gets up from his nap.
QOTD: a creamed tea and millionaire shortbread
Good Afternoon! Today I had a Spanish lesson for 2 hours and I have to do somethings around the house. I should post on my blog too.
No Halloween plans..they don't celebrate it here in Spain.
QOTD: I insist they try paella
Good night (we are about off to bed)
We have a big party on our compound for halloween, it will be our first time celebrating it, most of the houses are decorated and we have a big maze and games set up, I am looking forward to it. Otto is going to look really cute as a bumble bee!
QOTD: We haven't had any visitors yet but probably Nasi Goreng (fried rice).
OK so this is Quint's first halloween and I am acting like a huge tiger mom. We've already gone to a pumpkin patch at a local farm, we've done a harvest dinner at his school that involved tons of halloween activities, we have kids coming over today to decorate pumpkin cookies, on saturday we're going to a halloween party and Monday we're having a bunch of kids come to our house to go trick o treating with us!!
He is going to be a fireman and a pumpkin (we have so many events I got him two costumes). Trying to explain halloween to him has been a bit confusing but he likes the candy part! He doesn't want to dress up but I keep bribing him to put the costume on then once we get where ever, he forgets he's even wearing it
