Crochet help?

Hello. I am not new to the nest, but new to posting.

I am hoping to crochet a small blanket. I have my foundation line and I am ready to start my first line. I'm a little confused about how to go about it.

I have found some good videos but I was hoping someone could clarify.

Do you make two single stiches (I am using this for the entire blanket) then when you do the second row will you have 2 pieces on your hook for the rest of the project?

I crocheted when I was a teenager, but I don't recall how to do this at all. Thank you!

  • I'm not sure what you're getting at. Can you show a picture maybe?

Do you mean will you have 2 loops on your hook at all times? Because that would be no.

  • Ditto Dr.L's questions.  I don't really understand what you're asking either, sorry.

If you're talking about using the single crochet stitch ("sc" in pattern shorthand) for the entire blanket, YouTube videos should be able to show you exactly how to make a chain (what you call your "foundation line") and then proceed with a series of single crochets.  Just search for the term on YouTube.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

That is exactly what I was asking. Thanks! I finally found an awesome YouTube vid titled Back to Basics. The camera angle was exactly what I needed!
