Something to discuss

Let's discuss this article.

The article itself is bothersome, however I find some of the comments below it to be distasteful and rude.

Re: Something to discuss

  • Wow...how awful! Like you said, the article and what happened to that little girl is bad enough, but the comments are ridiculous. How can you be so uneducated and insensitive as to think that this little girl has a service dog because the mother is too lazy to teach her daughter what she needs to know? The lack of knowledge and empathy for that little girl is so disturbing!

  • I definitely feel bad for the girl and her dog.  And, it's ironic that got kicked out when trying to use the gift card that had been sent as an apology for the other time.

I don't understand some of the people commenting.  How does anyone not know that service animals are allowed in stores?  Also, someone asked "what if the animal traumatizes the store owner?" trying to make the point that the manager should get to pick or choose what comes into contact with him/herself and the store merchandise.  There were some comments that it didn't look like a service dog, but in some of the video you could see a harness around the dog and I think something was written on the top of it.  What's it to these people, anyway, if the girl needs to bring her service dog in the store with her?  Good to see so many others sticking up for her!

  • The sheer ignorance (and lack of compassion) of people is appalling. That company is going to have to do some major damage control now. To the tune of more than $25 I think.

  • I agree with you. The situation is bad enough, but the comments are horrible. "Distasteful" is definitely the right word! I'm surprised that so many people were so unsympathetic. It's disheartening.
